“Exceeds Internet Photos”
Beautiful spot to watch waves, boogie and paddle boarders, surfers, waves, whales, birds, dolphins, eels (in the pool right below the lanai late afternoon and evening), sunsets, waves, yellow tangs (you can see them in the waves just before they break), boats (when they are moving slowly, look around them to see the dolphins), and more waves! You can catch the early morning sun and look at palm trees and flowers if you get tired of the ocean... Inside is tidy and updated. Caretaker is friendly and helpful. Farmer type market across the street and deli market five minute walk away. Other then the ocean, very quiet spot. Very clean pool.

“A Pleasant Stay”
For the second time, my family and I stayed at the Kona Riviera condos. It is clean and quiet and the view is excellent! We needed a hair dryer this time because the condo did not have one. Housekeeping brought one although, since it was on the weekend, it wasn't until Sunday evening that the person brought one (I had requested one that morning). Other than that, we did not need anything and the stay was pleasant. I would say that no matter which unit you stay in, they provide "starter" TP, paper towels, etc. If you run out, you need to get your own.
“Perfect Kona Vacation”
We chose this unit in this location based on the photos and reviews on Tripadvisor. Couldn't be happier. There are several back units and 4 front units. We chose front unit on the top floor...nothing but ocean in front of high tide the ocean rushes right in to the low rocks just below the lanai. When conditions are right surfers congregate right out beyond the breakers. They catch shirt rides in but jump off just before the rocks.
On site maintenance man very friendly, helpful, and available. Init was clean, well equipped , (even a salad spinner!) Sink, vanity and cabinets in bedroom very useful and appreciated.
Great value in eating out at L&L; Bar-b-que; "Plate" meals served in styrofoam containers. 6 to 8 bucks, almost more than we could finish.
“Beautiful ocean front condo!!”
Loved every second of staying in this condo! It has the most beautiful ocean view deck! You are almost sitting on top of the ocean! I would absolutely recommend this condo for location and value! Only downfalls were a few ants in the kitchen (just make sure you put everything away/clean up right away, no big deal) and the condo could have used some beach chairs, ect as we have usually had these things available in our past rentals. This will be our go to condo in kona :)

“Kona Riveria Villas - Unit 202 Review - July 8-15, 2012”
We had a great stay in Unit 202. We would rent this unit again in the future and have already recommended this to others before return home. The unit was clean and very comfortable. Watching the eels in the tidal pool in the morning and evening was a real plus. I do want mention one thing. This unit does have an ant problem, especially in the kitchen. This is an annoyance and some might find this unacceptable. We have this problem in our home in Florida, so we are understanding about this. They are a nuisance, but that variety of ant can be controlled, but not with the little ant baits that were in the unit. Otherwise, the unit was perfect and even with the ants, we would rent it again.

“Our Dtay in Kona Riviera Villa #202”
We stayed in #202 from 6/14-6/21/2012. We were very happy with the condo and the location. Actually the location couldn't have been better! The waves hit just below the lanai and the tide pool with the occasional eel and the many small fish was extremely interesting. The sunsets were gorgeous! Having an assigned parking spot was great. And the washer and dryer available in the unit was a real plus! One suggestion I would make is to add air conditioning. Other than that #202 is the perfect place to stay in Kona! We would highly recommend it to anyone and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there!!

We spent our 15th anniversary here and absolutely loved this condo. It was very clean and comfortable. Had everything we needed. First thing I'd do in the morning was stand on the lanai and watch the waves. We spent a lot of time out on the lanai & ate every meal out there. The sunsets were awesome and the eels at night were a blast. We would absolutely recommend this property to a friend and we'll come back again if we have the chance.

We really enjoyed our stay in 202. Waking up hearing the ocean everyday was a special treat. Everybody in the building was so nice and welcoming. We plan to come back real soon. Thank you.

“Quiet Kona Beauty & Warmth With Ocean & Sunsets Off Your Lanai”
This unit is absolutely THE best for a Kona get-away! We have stayed here several times and are looking forward to the next time! It's not a big hotel! Only fourteen units in the complex. This particular unit is very beautiful inside and out, well-maintained, well-supplied, newly remodeled throughout, lots of natural light with views on two sides of mountains, gardens, and ocean that are absolutely spectacular. The ocean is right below the second story lanai with views of surfers, whales, boats, and unbelievable nightly sunsets. (My favorite place is the chaise lounge on the lanai at any time day or night!)The grounds and pool are also beautiful and well-maintained and the two mile walk to town for coffee, shopping, and the library is a good daily exercise program! One more thing:this unit also has its own washer and dryer which is a real plus!! We have stayed and visited in other Kona locations and think this unit #202 is the best kept secret in Kona!!:-) 'Can hardly wait to get back! Next time for a longer stay!:-) Aloha!
we were completely satisfied with the rental in all ways
“This was are 3rd time in the same unit. We love it there”
We are always recommending Kona Rivera to our friends thinking of going to Hawaii. We Watch the dolphins in morning and also the turtles and the eels. We can totally relax
great place, will return for sure
“Great set up for two in Kona”
We loved everything about this condo. Great location, easy to find and had everything available for a fantastic 10 day stay. The waves literally crash at directly below the lania. The pictures on the web page were true and accurate. The complex was clean and well maintained and best of all - quiet. We would certainly recommend this to anyone wanting to avoid the hassles of a resort location and will return again when we have the opportunity. We encountered one problem with the gate code when we arrived, but one call to the propery manager on her cell phone and that issue was resolved in seconds. Great experience in all aspects.
“Top notch stay at Kona Riveria Villas #202”
What a view! Great place to stay and so close to everything in Kona. We had a great stay and could not have expected more. Kona Coast Vacations was very helpful all along the way. Thank You!
The only part of the stay that can be challenging is the parking situation. The spaces are extremely small and only enough room for the exact number of apartments. When workers are there they sometimes take you parking space leaving you no where to go. Also, because of the closeness of the other vehicles it can be very challenging to turn around to go out to Alii Drive. Mahalo..
“Paradise with issues!”
The location of the unit is by far the best in the complex with an excellent view of the bay without onlookers from the pool area. The unit has all the amenities you would typically need. Parking is good with easy backing out room. The property onsite manager "Jimmy" does an excellent job of keeping the exterior grounds/facilities in great shape and he is very helpful when needed.
Two issues, one major:
“Major” The unit below ours ran some kind of equipment 24/7, perhaps an air conditioner. It was so bad it vibrated our unit and made a humming noise that was extremely irritating. “Minor” The dryer vents directly on top of the dryer into the unit making it unbearably hot and humid to stay there while using the dryer. (This should be vented to the outside)
We would not stay here again due to the noise from the unit below; fortunately we were out most of the time! If the wave action had not drowned out most of the noise we would of relocated to somewhere else!
“Kona trip 2010”
Great location and condo! We truly enjoyed this location and would stay here again. Appreciated the Hawaii guide books in the condo.

“Kona Riveria Villas #202”
Wonderful location, right on the ocean, could not have asked for better. Very quiet and friendly, enjoyed our stay very much. What an amazing way to start the morning it was, eating fresh pineapple and watching the dolphins jump in the distance. Will use this vacation rental unit again and will recommend it to friends and family. Mahalo.

We stayed for 5 days the 2nd week of December. We loved the location and the view, but the loudness of the waves breaking just under our lanai forced us to keep the sliding glass doors shut at night. We were also surprised one day to have one of the neighbors use the lanai as a shortcut to another condo next to ours, especially since it was early morning, the curtains were open and we weren't really "dressed for company." Speaking of privacy, be aware that the windows above the bed, if opened for venelation, provide a perfect view into the bedroom for the people in the unit behind this one. Finally, I really expected to find a hairdryer in the bathroom, so I didn't bring one on the trip. Needless to say, I didn't find one and ended up with 5 days of wierd hair. Other than those few minor irritations we loved the condo and the location.
“Gotta Love that Ocean Front View !!”
Had a great time in Kona. The Condo sits ocenfront and was just what I was looking for. The Tide Pool right below the lanai was alive with many creatures keeping my 10 yr old son occupied for hours during our 2 week stay.

“Fantastic Setting in Kona (Kona Riviera #202)”
We couldn't have had a better setting - our deck set right atop the waves. Spectacular. The condo itself wasn't glamorous but was definitely fine and set up very well in terms of cooking implements, abundant towels and other necessities/niceties. If you weren't made for warm weather it might not be for you as there is no air conditioning and though there are numerous fans it could get a bit warm. We are warm weather worshippers so the lack of AC wasn't an issue but heads up to those of you who wither a bit when it gets hot. Plenty of space for a couple but probably not the best choice for any more than that (no pull out bed, small kitchen floor space so only 1 can be in there at a time). Everything from reservations to directions and instructions for entry were easy and seemless (great rental management company). Thank you for the wonderfully relaxing get away!
“Jeanette S.'s review of Kona Riveria Villas #202”
An air conditioning system would be well it was very warm in the apartment
“This is our second stay there, last time in 101. We would stay t”
two hours, she said no. unless we paid an additional fee. We felt the charge was not in keeping with the otherwise good feeling we had about the rest of time we had there.
“July '09 in 202”
Enjoyed our stay in 202 immensely, we stayed in 102 in Apr of '08 and this was better. The building is apparently not grounded and I was severely shocked when I attempted to turn on the lights over the water to watch the eels at night. since I have a severe heart condition I take this seriously as does my cardiologist. You should have an electrician look into this. It's potentially very dangerous. Bottom line we had a great time. Mahalo
