We chose this unit because of the great reviews and photos and were not disappointed. It was very clean, quiet and comfortable. It gets morning sun which is great for having breakfast on the lanai and the screens cut some of the hot sun. A ceiling fan on the lanai would be a good idea. Air conditioning was great and had no bad smell. Kitchen was very well appointed with really nice cookware and dishes, not like some rentals that have old beat up pots and pans. The bed was very comfortable and the ceiling fan perfect for sleeping. The location is great and it is set back from ali'i Drive so is very quiet. The only downsides were the shower is tiny (no tub), and the tap water is terrible--practically undrinkable. Use the Brita filter pitcher or bottled water. We really enjoyed exploring the island and then coming "home" to a quiet, relaxing place and watching the Kona sunsets. Awesome! We loved Jackie Rey's on Kuakini Hwy, food and service great both times we ate there. The snorkel cruise with Fair Wind was the best. We would rent this unit again and are already planning our next trip back to Big Island.
"If you don't mind the smell of mold & mild rent this property."

The rental unit was clean and well maintained, but the building was old and the air conditioning smelled of mold & mildew. Kona becomes warm by 10:00 am, so going without air conditioning was not an option. I would not stay in the building again because of the air conditioning issue.

This was our 6th trip to the Big Island, and our first stay at Casa de Emdeko. We enjoyed our stay very much. The unit was clean and the amenities were very nice. We especially liked the elavator access since the unit was on the 3rd floor and I have a slight disability. It made it so easy to come and go. Thanks to the owners and Kona Coast Vacation for making our stay so wonderful!
"We have stayed at this complex several times over the years."

This was our first time to stay in this unit (328) though we have stayed in this complex many times over the years. This unit has been remodel and had everything that any one could possibly want to enjoy their vacation.

Preferred location, everything clean, and a FULLY equipped kitchen...yes, some of us DO COOK, and 328 even had a knife sharpener!! Wonderful balcony with ocean/mtn views....and close to town. We've done Maui and both Florida coasts (NOT again, to both!) but we very much enjoyed the Big Island and Casa de Emdeko 328! MAHALO!!!!

We had an excellent stay at Casa de Emdeko 328 and were able to explore the whole island from this base. Loved the sound of the waves against the shore. A fan on the lanai would have been a welcome improvement and the outside halls and stairs need a bit more cleaning and painting. The unit has recently been updated and is very well equipped.

Our condominium unit was fantastic! Clean and modern. The landscapng and building exterior need a little work, but are fine from my point of view. Great place to watch the ocean at sunset while grilling today's catch for dinner.

What a wonderfully stay - from the moment we unlocked the door upon arrival to when we locked the door at departure. The unit was very clean and well appointed with tons of extras to make our stay comfortable. Located close enough to the action but far enough to disappear in our relaxation. We did not want to leave and we WILL BE BACK!!!

This unit has it all! We stayed here last year and my brother and his wife stayed in it this year. They thought of everything. Tile floors, granite countertops and all the extras needed for a great vacation. We're coming back next year!!!

We stayed for 9 nights and really enjoyed it. The unit is well equiped and very comfortable, was very clean on arrival and easy to find. We enjoyed using the pool areas and liked how quiet and relaxed the complex was.
Only downsides - would have been nice to have an ensuite washer and dryer, also access to a storage unit that we could have stored our luggage for the day prior to our flight in the evening (we didn't pursue finding an alternative, but without having a 'front desk', the options weren't readily available.)
Overall though, will recommend this unit to others!

It was wonderful and I thank you Chris for all your help in arranging it for me. I hope to be back next yeat and will be in touch as soon as i know for a longer stay in the same unit. Would suggest though that blinds are a NECESSITY for the balcony No other complaints (not really a complaint just a recommendation). IT is beautiful at Casa De Emdecko. St. Catharines is the correct spelling please!

The unit was clean, close to Kona shopping and well equiped with all the kitchen needs as well as portable lawn chairs, boogie boards, etc. Air conditioning was nice as the place has nice sun exposure that gets warm in the late morning.

Our stay was very pleasant. Our suite was very nice. The only thing I found difficult was to find any office people. As we only had 4 days on the island we had to hunt down tours on our own which took time. It would have been nice to have someone to consult with at the facility.
"We enjoyed our stay,, forgot that side was too hot until about 3"

That side of the building is too warm.......Need a screen on Lanai and fan.....Enjoyed the inside, but ran air conditioner night and day. Our 2 months was a great time. Met lots of neat people. Being a renter for 35 years at Casa de Emdko, the rules are getting petty for younger vacationers. Parking is very difficult maybe they should buy the lot next door for parking and a few new condo's.........Just some of our thoughts. We are coming to Kona this Dec. 2012. Love Kona....

We have been to Casa 3 times now, it is a well kept complex and close to Kona and other places to visit. Our 1st time was very nice in another unit but last year our return to this unit was disappointing being very run down and dirty. Kona coast Vacations do have nicer units. The owners have thought of everything and made up excellent binders of info on the complex and also on the Island.
We would recomend this unit to anyone and will be back!

Very clean, quite rental. The elevator wasn't working while we were there which could be a little difficult for some given rental is on 3rd floor. Loved the salt water pool and the regular pool also a nice size. Our 5 year old liked exploring the rocks in front of the property, great tide pools.

Unit 328 was in great condition, nicely decorated and very well equipped except for W/D. I was there for 13 nights and I only wished it had a washer and dryer to run a load or two after beeing out all day so I dont have to carry my laundry to the laundry room and make sure I have exact change in quarters.

The condos were in great shape considering the age. Our condo was in particularly good condition as it was recently remodeled. Granite countertop, new appliances and, a big plus, tile throughout. For this pricepoint, you will not find better! We will be back!!
"Casa de Emdeko 328 - Unit was top notch. Very well stocked down"

As an RCI member and having stayed in various condos, this one was well worth the price. The owners have thought of everything to make it a home away from home. I unfortnately had to take my work with me so having high-speed wireless access was FANTASTIC. Location was good. Not too far out of Kona but enough to avoid tourist / cruise traffic. Very quiet. No kids while we were there. Laundry room was huge and very inexpensive. Nice to have on site for washing clothes and beach towels.

This unit was exceptional! Perfect in every way for someone who loves to be out and about exploring the big island. Then come home and relax by the ocean for sunset. Just a 30 minute walk to downtown Kona was great for the morning hike and coffee. The grounds themselves could use some upgrading, although the ocean views seem to make that all fade away.

Had a great stay.. again! Felt privileged to stay in a just renovated unit. Owner thought of everything in the way of comforts. Everything from nice sheets, right down to paper and pens!
The new appliances were great. I have never used a dishwasher so very very quiet. Love the flat screen tv's, highspeed internet and the extra hallway entrance to the bathroom.
Just a lovely unit. The 3rd floor is nice because you can ride the elevator with luggage or groceries. Even though no laundry facilities in the unit, it is not far from the large and clean laundry room for the complex. With a bathroom and music! .. Nice quiet complex.
I will be back, I'm sure!
