The Keauhou Surf and Racquet Club is a gated community of condominiums. There are three professional style tennis courts with night lighting; a tennis pro is on hand daily for lessons or game improvement coaching.
The large, newly remodeled swimming pool is ideal for â€œlapsâ€? and also for small children water activities. Swimming pool based exercise sessions are offered each morning. Showers and restrooms are conveniently located in the large pavilion near the swimming pool and tennis courts.
One of the most interesting features of the Keauhou Surf and Racquet Club are the numerous archeological sites. These preserved areas provide a glimpse of Hawaiian life years ago. Each site has a posted description of the activities that took place years and years ago.
The Keauhou Surf and Racquet Club has many gardens and walking trails. Flowers and tropical foliage are abundant. There are several outdoor barbeque areas for guests to use.
The Big Island is also known as the golf capital of Hawaii with 16 courses, 11 that are located in West Hawaii. There is a new driving range called the "Swing Zone" located near the Kailua Pier, for anyone who wants to brush up on a short stay.

The bad: no air conditioning or elevator. Billed as a three bedroom was actually only two with fold out. A toilet was leaking a little as well as bath room faucet- no big deal really.
The good- absolute priceless ocean view with great privacy and superb lanai. Very nice furnishings, art work and flat screen. Private gated condos with excellent landscaping. The unit was also very large for the money. Would we stay here again? - absolutely!

We received this email three days before we arrived in Hawaii, after completing contracted payment for the property:
We have just discovered an error in our system regarding the pricing for the unit you will be staying in. We had quoted the rent at $945.00, although it should have been $1575.00 as stated on our websites. Our owner has called us about the discrepancy in her bookings and would like the full rental amount to be paid. I understand that this is a great inconvenience, however we are responsible for the $630.00 difference. If you could please make the payment as soon as possible we would greatly appreciate that. If you disagree, we can offer you the option to cancel.

The property was in good condition generally but the sliding doors and one toilet were non-functional. After such a negative experience with the staff we did not bother to contact them for assistance with these problems. Just turned off the water to the toilet and left the door off its track.

We spent a week with 2 other couples on this property. The view from the lanai was spectacular. The unit was very clean. There is not 3rd bedroom separate from living area however there are sliding doors to close off from the living area.
There is 3 bathrooms which was wonderful to have. You need to enjoy the sound of the ocean because you hear it all the time which we loved. There are something's that need repair such as sliding screen on lanai and the lanai chairs have some springs that are wore out. It is a walk com the parking lot and up 3 flights of stairs but the view and the unit is worth it. Loved our stay.

Property was reasonably clean, but cleaners were not done by check in time. Chairs on deck are dangerous and should be replaced - they fall over if you lean back (springs are worn out - nobody in our party over 170 lbs). Otherwise a great unit.

A truely memorable retreat. It was very accomadating to our party as it had two king beds and two full bathrooms. Our children were enchanted with the geckos and the lanai and view from it are amazing. If you were any closer to the ocean you would be in it. Make sure you like "white noise" of waves crashing while sleeping. Also it is a very save location for young children to walk to and from the car. We can't wait to return.

This corner unit, while having great ocean views was actually too close to the rocks. The high surf was too loud and would actually shake the unit all night long. Hard to sleep. Loft bedroom was too dark. Extra bedroom on main floor had corner couch considered the third bed. This did not fold out into a bed and was hard as a rock. Not worth the high price at all. We stayed in a two bedroom unit in 2203 which was actually in much better shape and a lot cheaper.
I am sorry that you were disappointed. The surf, of course, is beyond our control. It can get loud and scary. It can also be gentle and soothing. Depends on Mother natures mood. :) I hope you come back and stay with us again!
