Description

Home away from home with everything you need for a fabulous holiday . The villa has a high traditional wooden ceiling and is set in a small child friendly enclosed olive grove. It is just outside the village of Kaliviani on a road that finishes just past the villa at a small church. It has plenty of private gated off road parking. Enjoy the warm weather in the swimming pool or sunbathe on the patio, but why not take your siesta under an olive tree. A peaceful location within easy reach of the beach and the village with three fantastic restaurants and a small mini market. Kissamos town is 10 mins drive where you will find all the amenities, banks, post office, shops, internet cafe, restaurants, chemists, and medical centre. There is also a local tour operator in Kissamos ‘Strata Tours’ which organises many varied activities as well as the usual tours. There are a few little sandy bays on the way to Kissamos which has many beach front tavernas and coffee shops. The beautiful beach of Falasarna is 15 mins drive with Elafonisi about 1 hour away. Both of these beaches have long expanses of sand and blue seas. The blue lagoon at Balos can be reached by road in a 4x4 with a 10 min walk down to the beach. The port of Kavonisi is nearby with daily cruises to Gramvoussa and the beautiful blue lagoon of Balos. Car hire is essential to explore this unspoilt area of Crete with its many little coves and hidden treasures. Kissamos has a wine factory with free tours and tastings. The popular town of Chania is only 35 mins drive with its Venetian harbour and shops Limnopoli Water Park is not to be missed and is only 45 mins away near Chania. For the gardeners there are the Botanic Gardens which has a restaurant for a cooling drink or something to eat. Lake Kourna is a fresh water lake about 1 hour away with tavernas and pedalos for the energetic. The really energetic may even want to tackle the Samaria Gorge. There are many more local places of interest to visit. Easyjet and Ryanair now fly into Chania airport which is a 50 min drive away.

A car is essential for you to be able to explore all the little out of the way places. The local buses are air conditioned and run regularly from Kissamos to all the major tourist areas.
