There are spectacular views from the lanai of this oceanfront condo. Every morning we were able to watch whales in the distance while eating breakfast! Two full bedrooms and two full baths would make this a nice place to stay for families. However it is on the third floor without an elevator but we got assistance with luggage moving in and out. The pool is heated and there is a great hot tub. A very nice place to stay that is close to many shops and restaurants but still quiet and peaceful.

This was our fourth year here. Feels like coming home. We love the location...beautiful view, everything you need within walking distance.
Also centrally located to explore the rest of the island. Traffic grim but workable so far.

We loved the location, the home and the island of Kauai. We had two startling discoveries, however. One, the traffic in Lihui and Kapaa is a nightmare with ongoing construction making getting out a challenge, if you want remote its better to stay on south or north side of island. And second, we were relaxes, but careful having traveled safely all over the world...from Lima to Thailand. However, we left the back door open while doing laundry in the garage (we were sitting on side deck/patio having drinks), when we suffered a face to face home invasion. The intruder got away with all my cash and had my daughters purse, cell phone and wallet in his hand when we interrupted his burglary...we were not hurt, but it soured our trip, for sure. Kauai police were very unenthusiastic, even though we gave detailed description (down to flecks of color in his eyes and tag number on get away vehicle). Nothing was done (a limp report was taken and no follow up occurred). Bottom line, lock every door, every single time you exit...even to take out the trash...apparently.
But we will return; Kauai is beyond paradise...thieves notwithstanding!
Ps. It is not on the beach. It faces the ocean, but there is no beach access from this house, that is a bit misleading in the marketing material.

The service was great- any questions we had were answered promptly with friendliness and a smile.
We loved the condo-it was like the title suggested. With my daughter sustaining an injury and not able to everything as planned, it was wonderful that she was comfortable enough to rest up in the condo like she would at home. Only drawback was the stairs which was not a problem at the time I had booked the condo.
The condo was well suppliedwith beach equipment, ice packs and best of all, a well stocked kitchen. Nothing is better than going into an unknown kitchen and finding that you have all the equipment plus spices that is needed to cook a meal. Thank you sooo much!
We love the location- it is nicely located so that we could head north or southwest easily. It was so relaxing to hear the waves crash onto the reefs in the evening. We even found a quiet little beach close to the condo that we could drive right up to the beach and my daughter could basically slide into the water without any difficulties-yahoo!
We hope to return to Kauai soon and we would definitely rent the condo again if it was avaible.
We spent 5 weeks on Kauai this year and had a wonderful stay at Kapaa Shore. Unit 305 is very comfortable and the location is perfect for us. It's an easy walk to shopping and restaurants as well as access to the east shore bike path. The people who work at Kapaa Shore, as well as Sue and Greg Strickland, are delightful and very helpful. Kauai really is the "Island of Discovery". This was our 9th visit and we are always finding something new!

This unit was so much more than was expected. Unit was well kept, excellent furniture, carpets and beds. Loved the extras, like beach chairs, cooler, umbrellas, body boards. All was great for our family of 5. What a View, and nice pool and friendly people.

Unit was well stocked for cooking lots of meals inside.
The upstairs bathroom floor was dirty (got white socks dirty while
walking on this surface).
Both bathrooms need to have the "fan covers" cleaned as they are totally covered with lint or some other thing. I think the fans would work better if they had regular maintenance.
Vacation was good. We've decided to go to another location as getting to the third floor with luggage is getting tougher to do.
Kapaa Shores would do well to invest in 3 elevators (one for each building).
Sometimes when we rent there is a checklist of what to do upon
leaving (start dishwasher, empty garbage, etc) and there was none that we could find.
Also, there are no "visible" instructions as to what to do in case of a tsunami warning or a real tsunami! Maybe we missed seeing this?
Mahalo to Garden Island Properties for doing such a great job! Read more
Aloha and mahalo for your review. We have taken care of the bathroom fans..mahalo for the heads up! In the event of a tsunami, we do have notices posted on the back of the front door and the County of Kaua`i has an automated system where properties close to the ocean receive a phone call warning of any upcoming situtations. Local radio stations announce as well as local TV stations interrupt the programs and advise the community. We are glad to hear you enjoyed your stay and we were able to assist you. Mahalo nui loa!

Beach Front in Kapaa

Ive stayed at kapaa shore about a dozen times, spent a summer in this same unit, #305. We were a bit disapointed that the Bory`s have not renovated this unit, we were there in 2002 and it hasnt been updated. If you're going to get $1600 a week you should be able to afford a kitchen upgrade. The refridgerator had rust on it and the carpets needed replacing. The downstairs TV was about 15 years old and with the cost of led TVs nowadays there is no excuse.
I will definitly stay in kapaa shores again but not in 305 until Charles spends a bit of our money fixing up his property.
Other than that we enjoyed the condo and its emmenities, especially the hot tub. The weather during xmzs and new years was way too cold for us, likely stick to summer visits from now on.

This was our 6th visit to Kapaa Shore Condominium. We love it there because of the location, close to restaurants, grocery stores, shops. Also an easy location for excursions to other parts of the island. Love the proximity of bike path and trails.
Everyone who works there is so nice and very helpful.
the unit #305 is very nicely furnished and comfortable, we would definitely stay there again. The only thing that could be improved would be the pots and pans and food storage and serving platters.
We would also like to see more of an effort to make recycling easier for the guests. We always cart everything over to Kukui Grove when we are there. Bottle and can recycling is good, but more of an effort should be made to recycle paper, cardboard, newspaper, plastic, etc.
We usually stay for a month, maybe longer next year. We consider Kauai and Kapaa Shore our home away from home. Mahalo to the staff and Garden Island for everything.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kapaa Shore Resort,#305.
Beautiful outlook, comfortably furnished. Would have enjoyed a more robust blender for tasty tropical fruit smoothies and a vegetable steamer but we're not complaining!

Kauai is such a phenomenal island, nothing compares in all the world. Your place was smack dab in the middle of everything with a wonderful view. I thought I would have a huge problem without a/C but there was a constant breeze/wind blowing through our condo at all times.
Good location, spacious, but can use some improvements

We came to stay at the end of June. It's very spacious for a family of 4. We felt really hot on the first day of arrival. There's no aC so you need to leave windows and slidering doors open all day to make the unit stayable. There are ceiling fans in bedrooms but I wish there were portable fans in living room as well. When we lay in beds, we can see dirty stuff on the ceiling. So the cleaning crew definitely needs to take care of those not-easy-to-reach places. The tile floors are a little greasy. I found a lot of mold on the sliding door in the downstairs bathroom. It's probably because the humidity in tropical area but still shocking to see it. The swimming pool is clean and enjoyable. The best thing is location. You can easily walk to grocery shopping and restaurants. Read more
Aloha and mahalo for your review. I have advised housekeeper about the bathroom doors and we are taking a look at ceilings as well. Yes, with no AC, you do have to open sliders and bedroom windows to get a nice cross breeze off of the ocean if you do arrive and all windows/doors are closed up. We have sudden rain storms in the tropics so we are unable to leave windows/doors open when it is unoccupied or damage could incur on floors & furniture. I do agree that Kapaa Shore has a great location and beautiful pool; which was recently re-tiled and it's ez location to shops & restaurants. We do hope you will return to Kaua`i! aloha!

This was a nice 2 story, 2 bdrm unit in a quiet building. The kitchen supplies could use some refreshing, and we were disappointed that there is no beach, but the sound of ocean is very soothing and it is a relaxing spot.

After searching for hours to find a good basic condo, I was pleased to find Kapaa Shores. And, after my 10 day stay, I was very pleased as well. The room was clean and comfortable. Some of the fixtures and appliances had some rust, but everything worked well. Though initially disappointed in not having AC, this turned out not to be a problem. The cool ocean breeze made sleeping no problem. Speaking of the ocean, room 305 has a lovely view and I always enjoyed going to bed with the waves lapping. I also appreciated having two single beds in the second bedroom for my kids. The two TVs was nice as well, although the upstairs one would mysteriously turn on by itself during the day. Overall, a great reasonably priced place to stay.

Garden Island Properties is a well run, friendly, professional rental
service with an array of different units to rent. The units they rent
at Kapa'a Shore are well maintained, especially at the price; and the
location is hard to beat, again at the price they rent for. We've been
renting at Kapa'a Shore at least once and sometimes twice a year for
the past 6 or 7 years. That should give you some idea of what my
wife and I think of both Garden Island Properties and Kapa'a Shore.
There is a reef a couple hundred yards off shore that slows up and
deminishes incoming surf, making the small beach in front of Kapa'a
Shore "perfect" for very young children. There is loads of lawn with
plenty of lounges, a very clean pool, and a 5 mile paved
sidewalk/bike trail (right next to the shoreline) is 3 blocks away.
Snorkeling, fishing from the shore and wind sailing are popular out
front. Grocery stores, resturants, and other various tourist services
are well within walking distance.
But if you want daily room service bothering you and artificial air
cooling, you won't find either. We happen to like the way
tradewinds cool the room and don't like being bothered every other
day to have the unit cleaned. So, what more could you want?
