cosy cottage, lovely food, walkers heaven, the perfect holiday!!

Left on Feb 19, 2010 for a stay in October 2008

The cottage was delightful, and the fresh flowers and a bottle of wine on arrival was so welcoming.

To see the race horses going to the gallops early every morning remains in our memories, and ensures we shall not forget the lovely village of middleham.

We found some great gastro pubs near by and those in the village were lovely too.

Great spot for day hikes

Left on Feb 18, 2010 for a stay in March 2009

This was a lovely little cottage in a very private location. It had a great kitchen (perfect for an evening roast) and a very nice fireplace in the living room. There is a pub down the road and a tea room a little further on. The cottage is in a perfect spot for walking Pen-y-ghent and accessing lots of other walks in the area.

The lady of the ownership was extremely kind and helpful -
The cottage was comfortable. The lane running past the farm was a lovely walk looking out over the Dales. It was peaceful. The local pub was within walking distance but the food was not remarkable. Good touring base for the area.

Dales delight!

Left on Dec 05, 2009 for a stay in July 2009

The owners were next door and very helpful. the house was clean and well equipped and we were very comfortable.
The house is set off the main road in a lovely village with walks from the door, plus the steam train too. Also, it was handy to drive into Skipton (or there is a bus) for shopping and sightseeing. There is a large, old well preserved castle there, and the canal runs through it too.

Even better than we hoped for, the property is beautifully presented, I wanted to walk on the Dales Way and this was well placed. We looked for somewhere quiet and off the beaten track, cottage was perfect. Would definitely book again.

Only downside? No public transport or local taxis, so you will need a car if you want to go anywhere apart from relax locally, which is what we wanted to do.
