“Location, Charm & Incredible Terrace” I'm just winding up a two-month stay at this apartment, and it has been a pleasure living here. First, the location is ideal: You are right off avenida Solano, within blocks of markets, restaurants, etc and a pleasant 20, 25 minute walk to El Centro. The building is fairly new, and has a bakery, a pastry shop and a deli on the ground floor. There is always a security guard near the door, and the building is immaculate. Taxis are readily available. The owners live in the building and are immediately responsive to any questions or concerns. The apartment is is bright and comfortable. A huge skylight above the entry stairwell floods the kitchen and adjacent areas with light. There is a very comfortable leather sofa, a table for four and a nice-sized and well-equipped kitchen, as well as a full-sized washer and dryer. The bedrooms have loads of built-in storage and one of them has a large flat screen TV with a DVD player and basic cable. The wireless internet signal is strong and reliable. There is a hospital nearby, and avenida Solano is a major street so you do get some street noise but nothing more than you'd hear in any urban area. What really makes this apartment special, though, is the terrace. Hummingbirds visit the feeders at each end, and they are fearless! There is a gas grill as well as a patio heater for the chilly evenings, and comfortable furniture for relaxing and enjoying the ambiance. The constantly changing view is absolutely incredible!

“Comfortable, modern, spacious and better than we could even have” Darwin's place is large and very comfortable for a family of four. We had everything we needed and all the comforts of our american home. Darwin went out of his way to show us hospitality and help (even with a medical emergency). We will definitely stay here again if our travels bring us back to the beautiful city of Cuenca.

“Great apartment” We loved the apartment! It was well equipped, very confortable, had everything we needed, two spacious bedrooms, nice living and dinning room, kitchen with washer and dryer, we were very happy, also the owner was very helpful and friendly which made our stay very pleasant. The disadvantage was the apartment is located aprox 15 minutes from the city center, if you have a car this is not a problem, but if you plan to go to el Cajas is 5 minutes to the main road. We loved Cuenca, our kids really enjoyed exploring the city, we loved Las Tres Chorreras, a great hotel in the way to el Cajas.

“great place to stay” wonderful place to stay, only two concerns , and they are so minor it's of no concern, but please a bigger fry pan, and maybe 1 English channel for the tv for rainy days hahahahaha, but over all a great place to stay all that was expected and more,

“A terrific place to stay” This condo has all the amenities anyone would want. The location is a 10+. The balcony at the top of the 5th floor has amazing views of the city and surrounds. We would watch the skies change moment to moment and walk to anywhere we wanted to go. Having a laptop there was the icing on the cake. Plenty of cooking utensils. The beds were so comfortable. Laundry facilities perfect as we stayed 6 weeks and didn't pack a lot. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay!

Modern, clean, spacious

We were a party of four and one toddler driving from Guayaquil to Cuenca. Although, the apartment wasn't ready by the time we arrived (3:30 pm), the broker, Deborah was very pleasant and accommodating. We booked the apartment for two nights. The apartment is located 10 min. walk from downtown Cuenca, in a safe area and with private parking for one vehicle. The unit itself was very clean and modern. The kitchen was fully equipped with basic appliances and more than enough to fix a nice meal for a family of 4. Everything in the kitchen and the apartment was in working condition and very functional. The apt. was tastefully designed. Everyone in my party was pleased. The family who owned the apt (and many others in the same building) were very charming and helpful. Aside from the delayed in settling in, the apartment exceeded our expectations in cleanliness, ammenities, convenient location and personalized customer service from the broker and owners. We really enjoyed staying in Deborah and Oscar's apartment. It was clean, modern and close to the center. The apartment is located in a quiet neighborhood. It is also a lovely 10 minute stroll through the university campus into historic Cuenca. The apartment had everything we needed. Good facilities and lots of little extras. Security, Location and Comfort!

We stayed at Darwins apartment during the month of January, 2015, and enjoyed a trouble free experience. Everything was as promised and then more. The apartment was very clean and contained everything we needed. It was an easy 15 minute walk to te largest market in Cuenca. Just a few blocks to Los Americas Highway and across the street, you can catch a Red number 100 bus that takes you into Old Town. This will cost you 25 cents per person and it also passes the Central Market if you do not feel like walking. Comfortable and Relaxing

There were 4 adults plus dogs that stayed in Rex and Cheryl's spacious and well appointed condo. First, it was wonderful to find a place that would accommodate our dogs and afford us the ability to easily let them in and out onto a yard. And, the yard was quite enjoyable with the beautiful garden and resident hummingbird. Delightful. The home itself is very nicely designed and decorated with everything we needed to make our stay a pleasant experience. The hosts, Rex and Cheryl, were full of information and were available to help us if we needed help with getting a taxi or making suggestions on places to eat. If you love to cook and entertain with friends, stay here!

^ All together there were 6 of us . As friends we love to cook and entertain. It was especially nice to have the living room and kitchen open so we could all visit while some of the women prepared the meal and the others watched tv and visited. One night we entertained 11 guests and there was plenty of room to spread out and be comfortable. I've been to a lot of flipkeys but have never seen such a nice large assortment of pots, pans, bowls and dishes for cooking.
