“Far beyond our expectations” My husband and I along with another couple had the pleasure and privilege of staying at Casa Yola for four days in late March 2017. Casa Yola was even lovelier than the photos and far exceeded our expectations. I took special care choosing Casa Yola because I was charged with making all arrangements for my travel group. Case Yola wowed everyone and made me look like an expert. Yolanda and John welcomed us with open arms. Yolanda took special care in showing us the property and making us feel at home. She proactively shared a multitude of area highlights. We’re grateful for her local knowledge and extraordinary hospitality. We enjoyed all of her area recommendations. Our accommodations were spotless and beautifully appointed with many amenities. The furnishings were beautiful and comfortable. We wiled away hours having morning coffee and evening cocktails on the large balcony overlooking the forest and ocean. We were delighted by the many birds in residence. The balcony and adjacent patio had comfortable chaise lounges where we could see more stars in the night sky than what we normally see is visible back home in the Minnesota night sky. She treated us as valued guests and went above and beyond any host I’ve encountered. For example she gave us chairs and blankets for our beach outing eventhough we did not expect it.

Casa Yola Ocean View Hideaway
Beautiful homes with an awesome view!!

The Owners: WONDERFUL! Very helpful before and during our 8 day stay. They had GREAT recommendations on resturants, hikes, waterfalls, sunset view areas, monkey tour all a must! The Airport : No issues, very easy. Car Rental: We rented a car from Zuma Car Rentals out of Jaco. Zuma picked us up and dropped us off at the airport in San Jose. The drive is about 90 min.to Jaco which is where we really started our adventure! There is really only one major highway so not to worried about getting lost. We drove about 20 min. to Esterillos. It was a little tricky finding the driveway for the first time but if you are paying attention you will not miss it. You will pass a sign to Esterillos Oeste that has an arrow pointing to the right. Do not go up that road. Pass the sign about 150 yds slow down and look for the first small rocked driveway, it has a pole next to it with reflective tape. Pass through the gate, drive up to the very top and enjoy your stay with the unbelievable view! Casa Yola: Both bedrooms are upstairs it’s so nice to be able to wake up and see such an awesome view of the Jungle and Ocean. The kitchen and living room are down stairs with a great patio overlooking the jungle and ocean. The Bar-B-Q is out front which can be used by both houses and has a light right next to it which was great for cooking. Perfect home for 2 or 4 people. Casa Buena Vista: Perfect for 2, 4 or 6 people. The large masterroom has a walk-in closet with a great view of the jungle and ocean. The large bathroom you share with the 2nd room that faces a beautiful view of the jungle. The 3rd room and large opened air kitchen and living room are downstairs. The large patio and pool was a great way to start and end your day. Both homes: Have beautiful sunrise and even sunsets especially if there are clouds. Plenty of bath and beach towels, bring your own toiletries. The kitchens have everything you need to cook just about anything. Some seasonings. We cooked breakfast almost every morning. We made sandwiches for some of our hikes. We barbecued for two dinners. Loved eating outside on the patio. Critters-Bugs etc: Lots of beautiful Birds and butterfly’s, Coati’s, A few monkeys off in the distance but did hear them right outside but it was about 5am and no one got up to see them. Mosquitoes were not out at the house at all but we did get a few bites at a resturant at dusk. Money: Bring small bills. They do take dollars at most places but we paid with credit cards at most places for a better rate. Safety and Driving: At no time did we feel unsafe at the house or out and about even when we drove over 3 hrs one way and came back late at night. … see more
