“Yosemite wonder! Excellent house!” We loved this house! The location was perfect and the neighborhood quiet! We traveled with our teenagers. 14 and 17. The short drive to the hikes was the key! Stay at the house, use the kitchen for dinner and you will have no regrets if you are looking for a vacation that has beautiful sites and a relaxing, comfortable, clean house! The owner emailed usfantastic advice - nice man!

“Cozy and inviting!” We spent a wonderful week in this very well appointed log cabin with our family. Our time up in the Mariposa area, especially the Yosemite Valley and the outdoor fire pit, made treasured memories for years to come for all of us.

“Lovely refurbished property with great location” My family and I wanted to visit Yosemite with friends who were visiting. The cost of hotel rooms in the Valley was excessive when compared to renting a property for the weekend so we chose Yosemite Hideaway. Upon arrival we were very pleased to note how clean the property was and how well the refurbishment had gone. The pictures do not do the place justice. It was perfect for our needs 2 young children and 4 adults. The location is excellent being very close to Yosemite Valley and Mariposa Grove. Please bear in mind that the lcoation is excellent for the road to Glacier Point but this road is closed in Winter by the National Park Service. Please bear in mind that the property is located at the top of quite a few wooden steps and the owners advised us to bring winter chains for the car and our shoes! We did not need them but best to go prepared.

“Awesome house” We enjoyed the views in the evening. GREAT location centrally located to visit Yosemite, Kings Canyon, or Sequoia National Park. Good roads with scenic views. Liza responds to any questions quickly and the Caretaker Steve is a new west coast brother. He even called me a few days in advance to let me know the house would be available if I wanted to check in earlier in the day so we could have extra time to sightsee and he told me what roads to travel for the best views on the way in. it's not often you get a call offering to let you check in early. In a word awesome place!!!

D&E Digs~relax in the woods under starlit skies...

Yosemite National Park cottage

  • 1 bedroom
  • 1 bathroom
  • sleeps 2

“Loved everything about D&E; Digs!” I highly recommend this charming cottage and lovely setting. Donna and Eric are great and a wealth of information. They are accessible if you need them, otherwise they are out of sight. The bed is very comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need. Loved the basket of fruit and muffins. A very thoughtful and appreciated touch. Take a good book or a bottle of wine up to the "hideaway" and enjoy the peace and quiet with the subtle sweet scent of pine needles in the air. Great location too in that it's a short drive to Mariposa or Oakhurst for a night out to good restaurants. We had a great stay in a great place and great hosts in Donna and Eric. We will no doubt return!

“Great accomodations and excellent location” We enjoyed the location of the cottage as it provided a nice country atmosphere but with excellent highway access to Yosemite. It was refreshing to leave the vacation crowds in Yosemite to the solitude and open space surrounding the cottage. The cottage itself provided great accommodations and was in sparkling clean condition. The owners took extra time to review the highlights of Yosemite NP and point out many of the best areas to visit. We highly recommend this property for your next visit to the Yosemite area.

About Yosemite National Park

Awaken your mind, body, and inner yearning for adventure in Yosemite, CA. Whether you are here to relax and escape the chaos of the outside world, or to embark upon the best outdoor recreational and extreme sporting opportunities there are, you have come to the right place. Visitors can spend the day swimming or paddling around in the clean mountain lakes, and at night, throw a family barbeque under a clear northern California starry sky. With guided tours through the heart of Yosemite National Park, travelers can discover the beautiful scenery and enhance their understanding and appreciation of the area. Yosemite offers the best in water sport recreation, from rafting and swimming to fishing as well as plenty of biking trails. There are also numerous options for dining, culture, and entertainment in this area.

Some of the sights you will not want to miss include:

  • Half Dome Mountain: This natural beauty offers some of America's most famous and breathtaking hiking trails that spiral up the backside of the mountain. With a summit of 8,842 feet, Half Dome Mountain boasts some of the most unique views of California. Whether you chose to hike the trail in a day, or spend the night at the Yosemite Valley's campground, Half Dome is an unforgettable way to see Yosemite.
  • Vintners' Holiday Celebration: Looking for great food and entertainment? Yosemite offers world-class wine tasting, seminars, and dinner extravaganzas as part of this event. It takes place every year from November through the beginning of December.
  • Yosemite's Chefs' Holidays: Interested in cooking, or simply want to enjoy great food? Held at The Ahwahnee each January and February, this event features world-renowned chefs and culinary experts showcasing all kinds of cuisine. Guests are able to meet the chefs, participate in cooking classes, watch cooking demonstrations, and take behind-the-scenes kitchen tours.
  • Yosemite Golf: This 9-hole National Park Golf Course is open spring to fall. It serves as a perfect backdrop against the breathtaking Yosemite landscape.
  • Yosemite's Badger Pass Ski Area: For many travelers, winter sports are a big draw in Yosemite. The season runs from December to mid-March. Activities include skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing, snowshoeing, and ice skating at the rink onsite.

Yosemite is one of the most exquisite natural attractions in the U.S., and a vacation rental here is a dream come true. Many visitors opt for a wood-side cabin versus Yosemite campsites, so that they can experience the great outdoors while still enjoying the comforts of home.

Very clean and well-stocked

The house is very clean and well stocked. Spacious for our group of 10 and the deck in the backyard was very nice. However, the air conditioning was not working well (only fan but no cool air) during a hot weekend in Yosemite. And, there was a leaking problem for the downstair unit when we used the bathtub in the master bedroom and the nod in the 2nd bathroom was loose and fell off.see more

Beautiful scenery

I booked a one night get away for my Fiancee's Birthday at Roundhat Ranch. The cottage was amazing. Gayle was very accommodating and it seemed like they had every necessity possible. The views were stunning. The donkeys, Libby & Jules, were the first to greet us when we arrived. They were adorable and sweet. There were wild rabbits hopping and beautiful horses all around us. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were so soft. The outdoor shower was an awesome surprise as well. We will definitely be back again soon.see more

Great house in a great location.

The Yosemite West neighborhood is the best place to stay in the Yosemite area IMHO. I'd pick it over Yosemite village as well just to avoid the crowds. This home was really nice, comfortable and clean. We stayed in the upstairs bedroom which was really roomy and has a full bath. One negative was the low showerhead. I'm 6'5" so the water would spray on my chest. Would be nice to add an extension that raised the showerhead some. The only other problem was the grill ran out of gas when we tried to cook on it. We were able to use the grill for the other unit to finish though. We would definitely stay here again!see more

Great Place to Rest

The cottage was great. We all had a great time. We spent four days at Yosemite National Park, and one day in San Fransisco. It was nice to come back to the cottage every day and relax. While we were there, we saw mule deer, rabbits, humming birds and other assorted wildlife. If you are looking for a nice place to stay with all the comforts of home, I highly recommend the country cottage. I hope that if we are in the area again we can again stay there.see more
