FALL SPECIAL: Stay at least 7 nights in September or October and you get a lower nightly rate - only $159/night instead of $179/night. Stay at least 14 nights and the nightly rate drops to $149/night.
If you love to swim in the ocean, if you have kids who like to play in the sand and go wading, if you want to stroll on a beach holding hands as the sun sets, then our well-equipped, clean-and-comfy ground-floor condo at the Maui Banyan in sunny Kihei, South Maui, is your ideal headquarters.
Kihei has restaurants for any budget, cafés, supermarkets, shops and easy access to one of Maui's few highways, so you're a short drive from the airport and popular tourist destinations. It has a casual ambiance and a relaxed pace.
Our condo is a one-minute walk to the beach - sandy Kamaole Beach II, where lifeguards sit on duty seven days a week. In fact, at night or early morning, you can hear the waves as you lie in bed. The condo complex as a whole is attractive and peaceful. Right out the door of our unit is a sizable shaded, grassy enclosure with a BBQ grill and stone table that feels quite private and is suitable for reading a book, playing with the kids or hosting a family reunion.
Our two-bedroom air-conditioned condo affords ample space for a family of up to six (or eight if you don't mind being a little crowded), or two couples, to comfortably spread out and enjoy a thrifty vacation. It's on the ground floor, so you'll never have to lug stuff up a bunch of stairs or wait for an elevator.
You get a master bedroom with a plush new king bed, living room, dining area, fully equipped kitchen with stove/oven, full-sized refrigerator, dishwasher, pots and pans, dishes, rice cooker, toaster, coffee maker, silverware and even utensils for the outdoor grill included, while the second bedroom has two new double beds. The unit includes a washer/dryer, two full bathrooms, adjacent to each of the bedrooms, and two shaded lanais (patios), each with table and chairs.
There is a door between the second bedroom and the kitchen/living room that you can close to create privacy for the parents, kids or a second couple. The main bedroom has a ceiling fan and TV, and the living room sofa opens up for extra sleeping space for one or two. (If you need a crib for an infant, we'll tell you where you can rent one.)
Included is a generous allotment of beach equipment: beach chairs, umbrella, snorkel sets, pails and shovels for kids, and beach towels. No smoking is allowed, either in the unit or on the lanai. Maximum occupancy: 6 people (8 if you don't mind being a bit crowded).
If you've brought your laptop or tablet computer, you can access free fast wi-fi inside the room or outdoors. There are 70+ cable channels. And let's not forget the spectacular sunsets when you take a few steps outside before dinner.
We regularly encounter gentle sea turtles at the beach across the street while we're swimming or snorkeling and, during winter, you can watch whales with or without binoculars.
Just three minutes up the road you'll find four restaurants - a Mexican place, steak/burgers, a bistro and deli. Within a 10-minute walk in a lively shopping plaza are seven more - Hawaiian (featured once on the Travel Channel!), Indian, Thai, natural food, pizza, tacos and steak/seafood. (Indeed, so convenient is the location that some of our guests have managed quite well without a rental car.)
Luxurious spas and world-class golf are a short drive away, and there's even a twice-weekly yoga class you can walk to. An on-site activities concierge helps you book excursions such as whale-watching boat trips, luaus and more.
Your first morning in Maui, receive a free what-to-do-on-the-island briefing, a free continental breakfast and valuable discount coupons. We'll tell you how.
Whether your goal is endless ocean activities, nothing but rest or a relaxed reunion with far-flung family or friends, our condo provides a convenient, affordable and comfortable home base.
During the holiday season, December 15 - January 2, the minimum stay is 14 nights and the nightly rate is $239/night.

We were in luck when we booked this rental for a last-minute family getaway. Having the beach and the pool so close were fabulous. Our kids liked the beach toys that were in the closet and all of us liked hanging out in the almost-private backyard that is actually bigger than ours at home. The kitchen was well-stocked (except for a garlic press!), edveryone thought the beds were comfortable and I can't think of anything else that would have added to our enjoyment.

We have stayed at this condo three times - once with the previous owner - and consider it our Maui "home away from home." Maui is awesome and we like having a familiar homebase, offering everything we need - especially portable beach chairs, plenty of towels and a good night's sleep! The property manager was responsive with minor issues that came up - for example once some bulbs had burned out and got replaced within a few hours and another time we couldn't find any garbage bags. The location is fantastic - so many eating places and shops a short walk away, and just a hop and a skip to the beach. We expect to keep coming back.

I stayed in this great condo exactly a week,as part of a family reunion, with other family members staying in the condo next door. Close enough for feeling together yet private. The condo has a nice lawn outside with a BBQ where we had several meals during the week, or just relaxed with a drink and a guitar (the management cleans the grill every day so it's always clean). The condo was clean but still felt more homey then a hotel room. The beach is literally 60 yards away. It's good for swimming relaxing and snorkeling (great). The beach for surfing is one mile down the road. You have bars, cafes and everything a relaxing walk away. Kihei is a good location for vacationing on Maui with most everything an hour drive away at most. If i ever come back i see no reason not to return here...Have a great vacation & Aloha :)
