These are two malls across the street from each other; Mauka means toward the mountains, and Makai means toward the ocean.
Restaurants in AZEKA MAUKAI are Coconuts Fish Cafe, Jawz Fish Tacos, Peggy Sue's 50's diner, Stella Blues Cafe, Panda Express, and The Coffee Store. Activities sales include Hula Hogs and Snorkel Bob's. Stores and services include The Last Resort, Hairstyles by Noe, The Nail Shop, Powerhouse Gym, The Water Store, and Tesoro gas station.
Restaurants in AZEKA MAKAI are Ono Gelato, Vietnamese Cuisine, Izakaya Matsu, Royal Thai Cuisine, Home Maid Cafe, and Taco Bell. There are live community theater plays in the Pro Arts Playhouse. Stores and services include Ace Hardware, Radio Shack, Maui Quilt Shop, Dollar Discount, White Pebbles, Second Hand Treasures, Moped & Bike Rentals, and a U.S. Post Office.
KIHEI CENTER MALL
Kihei Center is immediately north of the Azeka Maukai that contains Long's Drugs. Kihei's "everything" store. More than just drugs, you will find food, souvenirs, liquor, clothing, sporting goods and more. Open 24/7. Also in Kihei Center is a camera store, Boss Frog's, Golf Store and Birkenstocks store.
Lipoa Street Farmer's Market: 95 Lipoa Street. Open Saturdays 8:30 - 11 am

PIILANI VILLAGE SHOPPING MALL: 225 Pi'Ikea
This is probably the largest shopping mall in Kihei, with over 28 shops and services, including anchor shops Safeway and Blockbuster Video. There's a Medical Clinic, a couple of banks, Starbucks, a dry cleaner, Supercuts, Waldenbooks, and a gas station too, among other things.
Aloha Open Air Farmers Market: 1770 S Kihei Rd, a few minutes drive south. Offers fresh local well priced fruits and vegetables. I prefer the Wednesday and Saturday suppliers but the others are still good.

KAMAOLE BEACHES I, II, and III (10 minute drive)
The three Kamaole beaches are numbered from north to south.
Kam 1 has the largest beach and is one of Maui's nicest swimming beaches, although it can be busy. But Kam 3 has the largest park, with a beautiful grassy area for relaxing, picnicking and people-watching. There are picnic tables, restrooms and outdoor showers in the parks beside each beach. Each of the three parks has a free parking lot or adjacent free street parking.
MAKENA BEACH PARK aka Big Beach (20 minute drive)
This is one of the largest beaches in Maui, with golden sands extending nearly 2/3 of a mile long and 100 yards wide. Visitors can swim or snorkel in these pristine waters, picnic in the shade, or simply sunbathe on the seemingly endless expanse of sand. Life guards on duty.
AIRPORT AND KAHULUI (30 minutes drive)
Kahului is the retail center for Maui residents and there are several malls and major stores, Walmart, Costco, Home Depot, Lowes and others (including department stores in the Queen Kaahumanu Center)
PAIA (45 minute drive)
Paia is located close to many internationally known windsurfing spots including Ho'okipa and Spreckelsville. Paia is a town of colorful, rustic storefronts filled with local art galleries, one-of-a-kind shopping boutiques and restaurants.
Grab a fish burger at the popular Paia Fishmarket, then head to Hookipa Beach, the "windsurfing capital of the world." During the winter, the big north shore waves make Hookipa Beach a magnet for pro windsurfers and kite surfers.
HANA (over 3 hours drive, winding road)
Hana, isolated from the rest of the island, is truly the last undeveloped tropical paradise on Maui. Picturesque views of spectacular waterfalls, the rugged Hana shoreline, and some of the best beaches on the island. This makes for an exhausting day trip so overnighting may be something to consider. Further past the town of Hana are the Ohe'o Gulch aka Seven Sacred Pools. For the more adventurous types you can consider hiking through the bamboo forests above the pools.

Pictures and description on the site are well represented - stunning views and beautiful location. Our family, kids 12 and 10, felt right at home in this unit, an older but well maintained complex. While being a 2+2 (Pull out bed) arrangement we were a little worried about room but it was fine. Our priority was safety, cleanliness and functionality - exactly met our expectations. Condo was very well stocked. Cooler and ice maker was great to pack lunches, snacks and drinks for the day. Master bed was very comfortable and kids did not complain about sofa bed, although I may have. Huge walk-in shower was great. The in unit washer and dryer was a big plus - nice to wash provided beach and shower towels. The beach gear, snorkels, boogie boards (Added one) etc were also great. We didn't need the a/C, wind blew through unit and fans kept it perfect. Besides this way you could hear the waves crashing and wind blowing through the palm trees - nature's music at its best. Some mornings we ran North and South of condo ~4km either way, along the beach where we could, and this also made us realize that the location is ideal. Most of the days were spent enjoying the condo having early morning coffee on lanai while kids slept and usually back in time for the magnificent sunsets from the lanai or beachfront while enjoying a glass of wine. Also enjoyed beach in front of complex, pool and grounds on many late afternoons. Utilized the on site Weber grills many times, wonderful place to meet other guests. Be aware that occasionally some people choose to sleep on the complex beach, although we never felt unsafe our new friends on ground floor had their beach towels stolen left overnight on lanai. Recycling notably absent from complex - recycling centers are not far. Understand renos are forthcoming and with that so may increase in price, our stay was excellent, good value - we hope to return. Elisabeth, the owner, was very friendly and most helpful - great suggestions too - Mahalo.
