Description

Modern semi-detached 3 bedroom house in the small village of Kilkelly Co Mayo. Barr na Trimóige is a small estate of 40 houses facing a green area; very private, house not overlooked. Car parking for 2 cars on tarmac.

Not suitable for small children (under 3 yrs of age).

Good area for cycling, walking, fishing.

All mod cons. Main bedroom with double bed and en suite shower and toilet; and a single bed in each of the other bedrooms. There is also a fold-up single bed for an additional guest. Bed linen and towels supplied.

Fireplace in lounge with Dimplex insert electric fire; and oil fired central heating; fan heater also. Fully equipped kitchen, fridge freezer, electric hob and oven, toaster, toasted sandwich maker, microwave. Utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer; also dishwasher. Downstairs toilet. Internet access (satelite modem only); Radio; 24" TV /DVD player ( Irish TV channels only).

South facing maintenance-free rear garden with patio and garden shed, looking on to open countryside.

Village has two grocery shops (with Lotto), Cafe on the Square, fast food take-away; RC church, post office, school, pubs, pharmacy, excellent craft butcher shop, large hardware store, garage, betting shop; petrol/diesel and ATM machine in nearby Centra supermarket and fuel store on N17. Petrol/diesel in village also.

Basketball court nearby with safe children's playground area.Golf course 8 miles drive near Ballyhaunis; and at Tubbercurry about 15 miles.

5 miles from Ireland West International Airport, served by Ryanair to UK and Europe. Car hire at airport.

Good location for touriing Co Mayo - Westport, Newport, Mulranny, Achill, Céide Fields, Belmullet, Erris, Ballina, Inniscrone (surfing, swimming) Castlebar (Theatre Royal), Cong, Ashford Castle, Foxford (Woollen Mills retail outlet), Pontoon, Killary Harbour (fiord), Kylemore Abbey, Delphi Adventure Centre, Clifden, Omey Beach, Inisboffin island (ferry from Cleggan), Connemara etc.

Fishing amenities in Pontoon, Foxford and local lakes and rivers. Good area for cycling, walking (Westport to Achill Greenway) and climbing (Croagh Patrick near Louisburg) etc. Kayaking on Lough Erritt a few miles away.

Knock Shrine 8 miles away, facilities for disabled and invalids (for RCs - Mass in Basilica every Wednesday and Sunday evening at 3pm.)

Frequent bus service on N17 to Galway and to Sligo (calls at airport) and on to Londonderry. Daily Athlone-Westport bus (no 440) stops in Kilkelly Village Square and at airport - to connect with flights to UK. See timetables on Bus Eireann website. Local bus from airport to Charlestown a few times a day connects with No 22 bus to Dublin or Ballina. Local Happy bus for elderly people from the Square in Kilkelly to nearby towns on Tuesday (Castlebar) and Friday (Ballyhaunis/Claremorris). Local taxi service also.
