If you like to be close to the beach and like to fish, the Byrd's Nest is the place for you. Only a block away from the beach and Avalon Fishing Pier, one of the best fishing piers the Outer Banks has to offer. You can walk to Awful Arthur's Restaurant and Raw Bar and to Awful Arthur's Beach Store.
Located on a quiet street, almost like a neighborhood lane. Sit out on the well furnished decks and smell the salty air while someone cooks your daily catch for you. You can enjoy your breakfast or dinner on the screened in porch on the top deck or in the yard below on the picnic table by the park grill. Cleaning fish was never so easy as at this fish cleaning station complete with sink.
The home is comfortably furnished with plenty of seating for everyone. Skylights let the sunshine in during the day and the moonglow at night. You never saw so many stars as from this deck in the evenings. Make this Byrd's Nest your comfy vacation home!

The house was clean and the perfect size and close to the beach. However, the beds were absolutely terrible! Seriously how long has it been since you replaced them. Not being able to sleep the whole week made the vacation terrible for everyone even the kids...everyone was tired and cranky. Will never stay in one of these rentals again!
Greetings and thank you for your review. Beach Realty & Construction/Kitty Hawk Rentals understands that the comfort of our homes is extremely important. We will notify the owner of the lack of comfort in the beds and hopefully your review will inspire them to upgrade for future guests. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the location and cleanliness of the home and we hope that you consider our company on your next Outer Banks Vacation.

Had a great week with 2 of my friends. This cottage is close to the beach and we enjoyed every minute. The cottage was clean and had lots of room. I would recommend to anyone.

We had a wonderful time at Kill Devil Hills. The beach was a short walk away, and there was always room. The sights are amazing and there is so much to see. There is also time for relaxing and soaking in the sun. The house was spotless and had everything we needed. The rooms were set up conveniently and the upstairs was comfortable as well. Everything worked well. It was centrally located and had a great view. It was close to supermarkets and restaurants, yet had the quiet beach close by. We were able to easily travel to Corolla, Duck, Nags Head, and a little further south. There is something of interest to everyone in the family. We had a family of 4, two parents and two adult children. We could have had room for three more, and it would have remained comfortable. We had to rent sheets for the queen size beds, and an umbrella. It would be nice if the house had an umbrella and a beach cart for guests to use. I would go back in a heartbeat.

This was my first stay at Outer Banks and this home was well suited to that fact. It was very centrally located to everything we needed. It had plenty of room for my family and was well equipped. One draw back was the fact that the neighbors were permanent residents and their dog was bothersome to me who is not a dog person at all.
