Cottage Profile This is a charming simple cottage which has been newly renovated from wall to wall. It is within a shady cedar clearing situated one row back from a beautiful sand beach reachable down a set of stairs set into the treed beach bluff. The access path is across the owner’s property. While the beach is not private, this results in your beach experience being an exceedingly private one. The beach is composed of wonderful sand and small pebbles (which vary with the season’s storms and winter’s impact). The beach faces west and has great sunsets. It is a great place to wander along the shore, exploring and collecting whatever or just sit and contemplate life! You may want to encourage children to wear water shoes. Also there are rocks in the water as you are walking out. While they are great to sit on, they do pose a risk for stubbing a toe or knee on. The kitchen comprises a fridge, stove and coffee-maker and is physically part of the larger open concept dining room/living room. Take your meals at the ample kitchen island with chair-backed stools for 4. There are two bedrooms - Bedroom 1, accessed via a short hallway, has a beautiful double bed, side tables and accompanying towel rack in a blue nautical theme. Reading lamps allow any summer reading you may wish to complete. Bedroom 2 with two twin size beds, is smaller and cozy painted yellow. A single bedside lamp is provided. The shared 3-piece bathroom is lovely with new white fixtures in a pale blue setting. An enclosed shower stall with glass door is present. Enjoy your book while relaxing in the pullout sofa or chair. Walk out the sliding glass door onto the small wooden deck and relax in one of the 4 patio chairs at the round patio table. The cottage lane is gravel and extends from the main paved road. The children should bring their bikes as the quiet gravel road is ideal to learn on and explore. The cottage is only 3.7 kilometers (2 miles) from downtown Kincardine, making it an ideal location for day trips into town. In downtown Kincardine you will find lots of boutiques, fine restaurants, Kincardine harbour and the town's major landmark "The Lighthouse". Also, you won’t want to miss the Geddes Environmental Park 4 km away at the marina. Kincardine has a lot of old time charm with its large colonial stone houses, vibrant downtown and Saturday night Pipe Band parades. Kincardine's motto is "Kincardine - where you are a stranger only once”
Additional amenities include: patio furniture ( patio table, living area 600 square feet, television 32", water: well water, beds: 1 double, 1 child ), number of baths: one 3-piece bath with a shower, number of bedrooms: 2 bedrooms, 2 singles 1 pull out double in lounge, 4 chairs, water cooler provided, umbrella, life jackets ( 2 adults....Read more

Cottage was cozy and clean. Master bedroom needs at least a queen bed. Shower needs to be replaced. Better location for fire pit. And also the beach access is not in behind property is down road and off to side so description is off.

The cottage was well maintained and well located to suit our needs. With just the two of us, there was ample space. The kitchen was fairly well equipped. Easy access to town and central to lots of "day away" places full of history and beach fun. One downfall was the bed was uncomfortable which could be easily remedied with a foam topper of some kind. Overall a very good place to stay, we would definitely stay there again! Read more
Thank you for your comments, we are glad that you enjoyed your stay! We would like to note that the cottage owners have since replaced the double bed at the cottage - it is now new! Thanks again for your comments.

Loved our stay at this cottage. It was well-equipped and close to the beach, but also in a grove surrounded by trees. Perfect. The only sour note was that one night some fairly rowdy people stayed at the cottage next to us, no. 36, and didn't respond well to being asked to keep it down after midnight (they were playing loud music outside and making a fair bit of noise.) They were only there one night, fortunately.
