Additional Location Information

The villas are within 100m of the local 'non tourist' beach with a fishing boat marina and a beachside boutique hotel (Deva Beach Resort) at the southern end. The water here is shallow and not suitable for swimming. The nearest swimming beach is at Choeng Mon, a 5 minute drive with beachside bars, restaurants and water sports available.
The villa management provide guests with a daily shuttle service for guests
There are at least four bars/restaurants within walking distance of the villa, the nearest ‘Bullet Bar’ is adjacent to the main where all-day breakfast is served and meals from an extensive Thai menu. There are many more within a 10 minute drive, some of which are exceptional and most are excellent value.
The nearest convenience store is a 10 minute walk where you can buy basic foodstuff and toiletries. The local market is a 15 minute walk, here you can buy fresh seafood, fruit and vegetables at local prices. The islands main shopping mall with a large Tesco Lotus Supermarket together with numerous shops and fast food outlets is a 15 minute drive.
Plai Laem has the largest Buddhist temple on the island and the famous 12m high Big Buddha statue is a 15 minute walk, close to the local market.
Chaweng, is the main tourist resort on the island, it has the largest and most popular beach running parallel to the main street which is crammed with shops, bars and restaurants. This is the main centre for evening entertainment.
Bophut 'Fishermans Village' is a 10 minute drive, and altogether different and more sophisticated than Chaweng, it has the islands only walking street with some nice bars, restaurants and shops lining the waters edge.
We always recommend car hire to our guests for the sake of convenience, but for these villas it's optional owing to the proximity of the local services and taxis are always available, the reception staff will always call a taxi on your behalf. It’s under a 10 minute walk to the through road for passing taxis and songtaews

Plai Laem is located on the northeast of Koh Samui, nestled between Big Buddha Beach and Cheong Mon. Palm fringed beaches and stunning sunsets are in abundance with limited tourist or even local activity along its coastline, providing a taste of quite island life.
The solitude is evident when relaxing on the beach and Plai Laem is the closest you will get to having your own private beach. The area usually attracts the more discerning traveller, offering luxury beachfront villas located in a peaceful setting yet close enough to the buzzing tourist spots of Koh Samui.
Located at the southern end of the beach is a small marina where local fishermen moor their boats, and a couple of tour companies have their deep sea fishing and pleasure crafts. The sea at Plai laem is shallow and not suitable for swimming and water sports opportunities are limited but it is only a short drive to Choeng Mon, one of the best swimming beaches on Koh Samui.
Plai Laem is famous for its temple, adorned with amazing Buddhist idols; the most visited being the 18-armed Buddha statue. Surrounded by a lake teeming with large fish, the temple is the epitome of the serenity and solitude associated with Buddhism and offers an interesting alternative to Koh Samui's usual beach activity. The small island of Koh Som is located just off the coast and with no major commercial development, you can enjoy a quiet picnic on its shore, overlooking the pristine waters separating the two islands.
Plai Laem maybe quieter spot, but it is not isolated from the rest of Koh Samui, with Big Buddha beach and the golden Big Buddha statue within walking distance and the busy Chaweng just a short taxi ride away. It is also ideal as a honeymoon destination, with all the privacy and solitude you would expect with a few restaurants, spas and hotels to keep you occupied during your stay.
