Additional Location Information

The villas are just 5 minutes walk from the beautiful lake and the town centre of Koycegiz where you will find a mixture of modern and traditional buildings, with plenty of shops and small supermarkets. A two-minute walk takes you to the nearest local supermarket and the bakery and pastry shop where you can buy a variety of freshly baked bread and Turkish ‘simit’. The attractive town square, surrounded by magnificent eucalyptus trees leads to the long promenade stretching along the lake with its stunning views of the mountains. Here you can sit and admire the view in one of the many friendly cafes or excellent restaurants. The emblem of Köycegiz, an ancient statue of a lion (in Turkish, ‘aslan’), can be found in the shady tea garden in the square.

Every Monday a large, bustling market takes over the town centre selling locally produced fresh fruit and vegetables as well as souvenirs, jewellery, shoes, clothes, textiles… and anything else you could possibly want!

Boat trips across the lake to the natural hot springs and mud baths, the Mediterranean Sea and Turtle Beach (so called because of the Loggerhead Turtles that nest there) are a must…. and you can also visit the ancient city of Caunos with its amphitheatre, temples and Roman baths.
