Additional Location Information

The Bing map used by Flipkey is very old and does not show most of the streets that are in La Fortuna. If you look where the flag is placed on the map above, then you will see exactly where the apartment is located, even though the map does not show the street or the Burio river.

Transportation is easy. If you are on a short vacation, then look into flying to La Fortuna instead of driving; flight schedules are published by Sanza and Nature Air and a 20 minute flight is always better and easier than a drive after your international flight. If your international flight arrives too late for you to connect to a local one, then private vans with drivers are also available for almost the same price as a car rental by itself, so contact us for a quote. They make the start and finish of your trip much more relaxing and much SAFER with door to door service. Plus, cars are less expensive to rent here than they are in Liberia or San Jose.

If you do decide to drive here from San Jose or Liberia, then remember to review the traffic laws and signs before renting and to download updated Costa Rica maps for your GPS as there are few street signs here. In particular you need to know when to yield on one lane bridges.

Finally there are private shuttles such as Interbus and Grayline which offer air conditioned transfers in clean, modern vans for about $50/person or you can take the public bus for about $6. This is not reccommended as you will use up most of a day traveling and there is an increased risk of petty theft on the buses.
