“Super Friendly” Great folks running this place. They really give the home town experience with amenities of a major hotel. This property is right next to a beautiful lake. The options are great for either the relaxed weekend or if you want to water skiing or out on a boat to fish it is all there. Really pleased with vacation this has turned into and relaxation is the key!

Ye Olde Manor House Bed and Breakfast

Elkhorn house

  • 8 bedrooms

“It's Delightful, It's Delicious, It's De-lovely!” One would think that Cole Porter wrote those lyrics after visiting Ye Olde Manor House! The owners, Karen Fulbright-Anderson and John anderson, are a delightful, warm, welcoming couple. They are so friendly and engaging that you feel at home almost as soon as you arrive. And their home reminds me of an English Country Cottage with the many comfortable seating areas and nooks and crannies expected. There is also a beautiful green lawn with several flowering beds and many lovely spots for sitting. But the piece de resistance of the public areas is the year-round indoor/outdoor pool, with a depth of no more than 5 feet, which makes it perfect for swimmers and non-swimmers (me) alike. First, and most importantly, each guest room has it's own private bath stocked with lovely smelling potions and lotions, big, soft, fluffy bath towels and anything else that you might need. Second, the rooms are lovely. I stayed in the 'Oak Room', which is filled with antique oak furniture and is perfect for one person. There is a chair for reading, a beautiful antique trunk that you can sit on use for your luggage and antique lamps, doilies and trinkets. There were two other guest rooms nearby, but I slept like a baby and never heard anyone else! The breakfast that John and Karen offer negates the need for lunch! You have a choice of Vegan, Vegetarian or the Meat and Dairy eaters breakfast, and everything they prepare is delicious! Finally, there are plenty of other things to do nearby-walking around the Lake, hiking, visiting the quaint Town of Elkhorn, attending concerts and, my favorite, antique fairs!! My long weekend at Ye Olde Manor House was so enjoyable and relaxing that it left me feeling as though I'd spent a week at a spa. Writing about it is making me feel the same way all over again. I can't wait to visit again!!!

About Lake Geneva

Most famous as the birthplace of ‘Dungeons and Dragons’, the city of Lake Geneva has hot, humid summers and cold winters, with around 191 days of sunshine a year.

Summer is the best time to visit for relaxing at the beach, but the city is just as popular in the winter months for skiing and snowboarding. For a quieter vacation, come during spring or fall, when the weather is a little cooler and some tourist attractions may be closed.

Lake Geneva’s coastal location means dining out on fresh seafood is a must. You’ll find everything on the menu, from oysters and mussels to lobster and baked Boston cod. For a truly memorable dining experience, you could even enjoy a dinner cruise on the lake itself!

Many resorts in the area offer free shuttles, but taxis are also readily available, or you can hire a car at the airport.

What to do in Lake Geneva

If you’re traveling with the kids, take them to the Adventure Center for a whole host of outdoor activities. You can also zip line through the trees at Lake Geneva Canopy Tours.

During the winter months you can enjoy skiing, snowboarding, sledding, ice skating and snowshoeing in the area. When the sun is shining, take to the lake for parasailing, boating or paddle boarding. Or, for something a little more relaxing, take a narrated boat tour to see some of the area’s most spectacular sights.

There are a few museums worth visiting in the area, including the fascinating Old World Wisconsin. This replica village complete with costumed villages in character means you can step back in time to the 1800s and experience what the area was like. For even more insight into local history, explore the Geneva Lake Museum.

During the summer months, there’s plenty happening at Riviera Beach, with food stalls, beach volleyball and watersports on offer.

The Cove of Lake Geneva By Owner , luxury suite!
Great room, great location

To start off with, we left the key to the room at home. Kris made sure we got in the room without delay by having someone get another key to us. My husband is disabled and the room was close to the main lobby and elevator. Surprisingly we didn't hear much late night noise. We had an enjoyable 2 night stay.see more

Does Your Dog Need A Vacation?
Wonderful, relaxing, friendly

My boyfriend and I and our dog just loved staying at Kelly's place. We were a block from the beach and walking distance to eateries and local bars. We didn't do a lot around Lake Geneva besides hang out at the house and the beach and it was just so wonderful. The house is unbelievably cozy with everything possible you could need to cook, swim and enjoy your surroundings. Thank you, Kelly! We hope to come around again soon!see more
