Beachfront Condo with Plunge Pool - Reeds House 10

A Perfect Week @ Reeds House 10

We have been to Barbados a good few times now and always liked the look of Reeds House. So we decided to give it a try this summer. The location is fabulous, set on the beach between Holetown and Speightstown on the west coast, and in easy reach of Bridgetown. There were lots of things we loved about the apartment but it has to be said you can't get much better as far as a beach is concerned!. Crystal clear water, beautiful sand…and a real plus is that you don't get hassled by an endless stream of beach vendors. In fact, we didn't see a single one during our whole week there. We chose to take an apartment on the second level which provided a beautiful view of the beach and the sea through the palms. Another great feature of the Reeds House apartments is that they all have their own plunge pool/jacuzzi on the balconies and are cunningly designed to provide complete privacy from neighbouring apartments, both above and next door. After coming up from the beach we enjoyed many a cocktail in our pool :) The apartment itself was beautifully furnished in the Caribbean style, with al fresco dining, a bar with a fridge on the balcony/terrace, and a very well-equipped kitchen. The bedrooms were light and airy and at night the aircon was first rate. The master en-suite was huge, with an enormous bath and a shower. And the whole place was spotlessly clean. Our house keeper, Gillian Moore, runs a very tight ship at Number 10! She is also a great cook. We like to eat Bajan home-style cooking and that's what she did for us. Curries, flying fish, fish cakes, macaroni pie, breadfruit - all the island's favourites - beautifully prepared daily. For lunch we like to eat light and her toasted sandwiches and salads were delicious and varied daily. Reeds House also has staff on reception who were all incredibly helpful throughout our stay, and Adrian the gardener who manages the beach beds was a star. Most of the holiday villas in Barbados are a bit on the large side for only two people but the Reeds House Apartments are perfect. Plenty of space and not a house full of empty rooms. Perfect beachside villa for families, friends or couples.

We had a family holiday in January staying in Camden Nook. Our group ranged in age from 26 to 61. We all gave it full marks. The location was perfect - in a beautiful spot, quiet but within easy reach of bars/shops/restaurants etc. The villa was well equipped, very comfortable and well run.
