The Convent

The house is an old convent immaculately converted while still holding on to many of its original features to give our guests a feel of old world charm. The house has two spacious sitting rooms for relaxing in and breakfast is served in our very own chapel. This is a beautiful room boasting 15x9ft stain glass windows set around you as you enjoy breakfast. Our bedrooms all come with an unrivalled view of Killary Harbour Ireland's only fjord.Outside there is lovely mature garden where you can relax under our impressive monkey tree weather permitting !! .We also have sheds for bike storage etc.

Leenane is a small beautiful village situated on Killary Harbour irelands only fjord and is pinned in on all sides by tall majestic mountains, none more than mweelrea the highest in Connaught. For a small place the area has a lot to offer from salmon fishing on the famous Delphi and Eeriff fisheries to surfing in one of the adventure centres to mountain climbing on any of our western ways.if you don't feel like any of that you could unwind beside a fire with a soft pint of stout in any of the pubs ,or visit the blackberry cafe for some of their beautiful chowder . There are many picturesque areas outside the village with Connemara on our door step kylemore abbey is only 14km away and the towns of Westport and Clifden only 32km away. Knock airport is 94km and Shannon airport is140km away ,during the summer there is buses passing twice a day between Westport and Clifden.
