Cottage Profile The Amazing Grace cottage is an 1800 square foot property located on a quiet, dead-end road that leads to a sheltered area on Myles Bay, which is part of Lake Huron. There is a covered front entranceway, and trees surround two of the sides of the cottage. Inside is very spacious with large open sitting and eating areas. The natural stone flooring continues throughout the main level of the cottage. The gorgeous south-facing waterfront can be seen from the kitchen and dining area through windows that run nearly the length of the wall and include pull down coverings. The kitchen includes lots of counter space and white kitchen applicances incorporated into the dark wood cabinetry. There is also a breakfast bar attached to one side of the kitchen counter and three comfortable stools close to the main dining table. The dining table is situated directly in front of the large windows that face the waterfront for a great view that can be enjoyed while eating. The living area includes a large and comfortable seating area with a tv, fireplace, and area rug to create a cozy setting. The gas fireplace is set in a stone backing, and is surrounded in a semi-circle by the large couch, loveseat and armchair. There are three bedrooms in the cottage, including two with queen-size beds. The third bed is a double size and there is a pull-out sofa bed in the upper hall. One of the bathrooms has a jacuzzi tub, while the other has a spacious shower. There is a doorway leading into the back of the property that includes a grassy area which eventually thins out to rock and leads into the water. There is a decorative stone patio area at the back of the house where the view of the waterfront can be enjoyed from patio chairs. Meals can be enjoyed outside with the use of the patio furniture or picnic table that is also located on the property. There is a long dock out to the water's edge, but it is not usable for docking boats. There is a small marshy area just before the water's edge, which is passed over by a walkway. It is flat rock into the water with gradual entry which makes for great swimming with a rock bottom. A sea kayak, canoe, paddleboat, and fire pit can be used to enhance the vacation experience, as well as a propane BBQ. You will find a hospital, grocery store, pharmacy, bank and post office in the village of Lion's Head - a short distance away. Sit on the patio of the Lion's Head Inn and have a bite to eat or just take a walk around town and browse in all of the little stores. There is a large public sand beach located 3 km away at Black Creek Provincial Nature Reserve.
Additional amenities include: one double, wireless high speed lite internet, living floor area - 1800 square ft., cd player, beds - two queens, patio furniture ( patio table, outdoor fire pit, dwelling type - two storey cottage, one 3 piece with a shower, electric fireplace in master bedroom, number of baths - 2, sea kayak, 4 chairs, one pull out double in upper hall, television ( 42" ), drinking water - well, clothes line, number of bedrooms - three, umbrella ), one 3 piece with a jacuzzi tub, life jackets ( 4 adult & 4 childrens)....Read more

I have to say that for our first family vacation ever, we did it up in style. The cottage, Amazing Grace, that we rented definitely lived up to its name, Amazing. The cottage was immaculate and impeccable and the location was so scenic and serene. For the first time in about 10 years my husband actually relaxed!! He was like a completely different person. As for the owners, it was "amazing" finding out that they were fellow believers. I truly believe that God led us to this location.
If we can afford it, we want to definitely go back next year!!

This was an absolutely beautiful cottage. The photos are completely accurate. Immaculate and spacious with comfortable beds. Beautiful view, wonderful sandy beach just a few moments away. We travelled with our one year old and three year old. The only caution would be that the beautiful stone floors can be just a little tricky for toddlers, and there is a very steep staircase. However, the cottage was a wonderful, beautiful, amazing experience and we would highly recommend it to a friend.

Neither us or our friends had been on a vacation for a long time. It is ironic that we would choose a place like this because we both have beautiful homes on the water just as this one was. Our week was wonderful. Just goes to show you home away from home can be extra special. Especially when there are such wonderful hosts as you. Thank you for a memorable weekend.

This cottage has a high level of interior amenities, with a full kitchen with
bar, dining table and gas fireplace, as well as all utensils. There is a large
fridge with freezer. The beds in the three upstairs bedrooms are good, the
jacuzzi however is in need of a good clean. As we always do we leave it
running first before we use it ourselves, but there was just to much dirt
coming into the water.
The pedal boat, canoe and kayak allow for good fun in the easy access bay
on lake huron. The outdoors around the cottage is of good quality, and you
can easily attach the hammock to the hooks on the trees. The firepit allows
for hours of lakeside entertainment.
There is a decent cornerstore on the intersection in Ferndale and a large
grocery store in Lion's Head. If your not packed to the top, stop at the IGA
store in Wiarton on your way up, to stock up on water and other non
perishables, the store is open 24 hours.
The exterior needs some finishing as siding is missing and the roof gutters
as well. Furthermore, the area near the main entrance stays moist long
after any rain, use it only the first time to enter and then use the back door
near the kitchen.
