Cottage Profile Experience breathtaking views at this three-bedroom waterfront cottage, located on top of the Niagara Escarpment, only 2 km from Lion's Head. The cottage boasts a spectacular view of the pristine waters of Isthmus Bay and the majestic rock. The aquamarine colour of the water, amazing sunsets and limestone cliffs complete this beautiful setting. This is one of the few areas on the Niagara Escarpment where you can enjoy beautiful sunsets over Georgian Bay. Because the cottage is located on top of the escarpment bluff there is no access to the water. However, a great public sand beach is located 2 km away from the cottage in the village of Lion's Head. The cottage is a open concept design - and is all located on one level. When you arrive you enter the small compact fully equipped kitchen, it is here you will find a microwave, fridge, stove, oven and a bit of cupboard and counter space. The living room, and dining room are adjacent to the kitchen area. There is a dining table that seats four comfortably. The living room amenities include a couch, four comfortable armchairs, coffee table and a 36- inch colour television with satellite receiver. From here you can enjoy a great view of Georgian Bay. Leading off the living room is a short hall taking you to the three bedrooms, you will find one queen bed, one double bed, and one bedroom with a set of single bunkbeds. All bedrooms have a window. The four-piece washroom is also located down this hall. A washer and dryer are also here for your convenience. The bay side of the cottage features a deck that runs the length of the cottage. This is a fantastic place to take in the beautiful sunsets over Georgian Bay or to watch the sailboats and fishermen on the Bay. This deck is furnished with patio table, chairs and lounge chairs. (Patio furniture not yet shown in pictures). There is also an east facing deck which is absolutely wonderul, peaceful for having one's morning coffee. It looks out over the deep, treed backyard and gardens. There is a bistro type table with 2 chairs here. There is a large yard here that overlooks the bay, please keep in mind that this yard is not fenced off or does not have any barriers from the cliff top, children should be not outside without an adult. The cottage is located 2 km (3 minutes by car) from a sand beach and from shopping and dining at Lion's Head. The Bruce Trail is right in the backyard of this property. You can start some great day hikes right from your back door. The Lion's Head beach is a great way to spend the day. This sandy beach has a gradual entry into the water with a swim raft. Also here at the beach there is a volleyball net, playground equipment, and a swing set for the children. There are also a variety of golf courses in the area. Lion's Head is a great little town for your family vacation.

If you like to travel and stay in a style, this cottage is the destination. I enjoyed the fact that the kitchen is not equiped with junk from garage sales, it was pricy china and full cutlary set.
New front loader washer and dryer.
Although the cottage was not directly on the beach, we had the best sunsets ever and the best view of the water.
The only sort of disapointing was no fire pit.

The cottage was very nice, great view, great location, near all the amenities and minutes from a clean and safe beach for the children. We had a grat time and really enjoyed the comfort of a very well kept, modern, and welcoming setting. Sunsets were especially great.
I would, however, flag two minor setbacks:
* I did not like the renting process (hidden fees such as the $50 non refundable fund in case of damages; and being asked to provide my home insurance policy number(?!)); and
* Having to clean the entire cottage, including vacuuming before leaving. At this rate, we would normally be expected to simply leave things in order, not spend 2 hours cleaning it all.
This said, very nice owners and great community of residents, in a great location of Ontario. Read more
Thank you for your comments, we appreciate your feedback. The two fees that our company charges on each rental are advertised on each of our cottage profiles in the rate section so renters are aware these need to be added to the rental rate and there are no surprises when filling out the application.
We do ask for a lot of information on our application, but this is all kept within the company.
We do ask our renters to leave the cottages clean at the end of their stay and our owners have the cottage checked between rentals as in these rural areas a cleaning service is not readily available. Some of our cottages do have a cleaning service available for a fee and we advertise this on the cottage profile.

The only negative comment that we have is that the web listing does not do justice to this cottage. There are significant features that have not been listed: new doors and windows (nice feeling of security), all new beds (queen bed was awsome), new front load washer and dryer (remember to bring he detergent), new BBQ and new high def WS 42" TV (great for world cup).. The location is prime: 20 min walk to town and beach and the Bruce Trail is literally just across the street. We would recommend this cottage for couples (before or after children) as it is literally on top of the escarpment. However, this does result in some awsome views and spectacular sunsets.
