Cottage Profile Very private, spacious, 2500 square foot, four bedroom waterfront cottage overlooks Pike Bay on the shores of Lake Huron. The cottage comes with all the bells and whistles for a comfortable stay. The cottage is located on a large lot with approximately 227 feet of shoreline. The private lot provides a great place for your family to enjoy a quiet holiday. The cottage consists of two seperate cottages that connect by hallway, a unique feature that makes it perfect for two families travelling together. The older brick cottage is approximately 40 years old. The living area in this end of the cottage has a living area with two couches, and arm chair, a beautiful stone fireplace, and television. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, stove and sink and has a dining room table to comfortably seat six. This end of the cottage has two bedrooms. One bedroom has a queen bed (replaced in 2009) and the other has a bunk bed (two singles) and a third single as well. The bathroom in this end is a three piece with shower. The newer end of the cottage was built 8 years ago and features cathedral ceilings, skylights, several large, lake-facing windows and two separate sitting areas. A sunroom at the far end of the cottage provides a bright place to relax in peace and quiet, while the living area opens into the kitchen and dining room. The kitchen in this end of the cottage is fully equipped with fridge, stove, microwave and dishwasher. The dining table seats all eight people in the party comfortable, for those meals you want to eat as a group. There are two bedrooms at this end of the cottage, one with a double bed and the other with a queen bed. The bathroom in this end of the cottage is a four piece with both shower and tub. Full laundry facilities are available at this end of the cottage. A really striking feature of this cottage is its large 500 square foot deck that stretches the entire width of the cottage. From this vantage point you are treated to a great view of the bay and and soothed by cool summer breezes. Comfortable Muskoka chairs are provided, as well as a patio table, chairs and umbrella. The property includes a large grassy area which is a great spot for kids to play. There is no passing traffic. The shoreline of the cottage is sandy/muddy and the water is shallow and warm at entry. Owing to current low water levels, there is grass growing on the shoreline. ( Due to low water levels it is a 50 metre walk to the water's edge). This is also a good area for anyone interested in kite boarding. A general store is a 5 minute walk away. There you can purchase basic needs, rent movies and enjoy a cool ice-cream cone. Sauble Beach is a 30-minute drive away, there are three golf courses within a 1/2 hour drive and the Bruce Trail and Bruce Peninsula National Park are close by.

This cottage is in a great location, you can take day trips to anywhere in the area. The sunsets are gorgeous and the deck is a great place to enjoy a beautiful sunset every night. You can walk to the little store and have an icecream, while the kids are on the playground.
The cottage is spacious, can sleep 8 people, and fairly clean.
It has its own washer and dryer (the washer is very noisy for some reason...), also dishwasher, and all utensils in the kitchen, very well equipped
The tap water doesn't seem to be potable though, it smells bad, and even taking a shower spreads a "septic tank" smell in the house.
The old part of the cottage is indeed old, with a very strong, mouldy, musty smell. The kitchen sink in the "old cottage" doesn't work (water pools and takes a very long time to drain) so it should not be used
My only problem were the ants. They were everywhere, in the kitchen, also in the living room; we would sit on the couch watching TV and feel ants crawling up our arm or leg. I noticed them as soon as we walked in, and although the place appeared clean, the ants kept coming. We had to keep all food in the fridge, but even for the short time it took to prepare the food, you had to keep chasing and killing ants. There were the black small ants, also the very tiny reddish ones... ugh...

Sure enjoyed having the bonus of having 2 complete cottages at one location. Lots of space for everyone. The sun room was an added bonus. Really appreciated the Noon check out time...didn't need it, but it took the pressure off of an earlier departure.
