“Great” With family ages ranging from 18 months to 78 we were worried about how we would all fit in. But thanks to the layout, and several sitting areas, the whole week went without a hitch. The lovely house was in excellent condition, with the kitchen being very well stocked with appliances. The bedlinen was excellent. The garden was beautiful and with the advantage of a field/paddock attached, the older children had freedom to play football, boules, rounders and even had water fights. We would certainly go again.

Why Forest of Dean?

The colorful Forest of Dean is rich with history and greenery, with intrigue around every turn. Book your vacation rental in the Forest of Dean for a magical rural getaway.

About Forest of Dean

Famous for its appearance in the Harry Potter films, the Forest of Dean truly is a magical place. But it has far more to offer than just recognizable scenes from Harry Potter, as it was once an elite hunting forest for royalty, and a historical mining location. There's a lot going on here beyond the colorful flora that crops up throughout the year!

What to Do

The rivers running through the forest provide some great opportunities for fishing, though you will need to secure a permit in advance.

Top Forest of Dean Travel Tips

Because this is a semi-rural area, public transport isn't always ideal, so a car is definitely the best way to get around.

For a magical trip into the countryside, why not book a vacation rental in the Forest of Dean and explore everything it has to offer? You'll have a magical time!

Outstanding countryside.

The location of the house is outstanding over looking countryside. The owner was on hand to help if there was a problem. We had the most enjoyable weekend and would recommend to any of our family and friends. The grounds were large enough for adults and children to lose themselfs. The kitchen great if you enjoy cooking and entertaining, as was the diningroom is fantastic space for a family gathering. The overall presention was superb.see more

This beautiful Hobit-hole is just perfect.

What an amazing little cottage! This little, secluded bolt hole was fantastic and we loved every minute. The owners kindly left a great welcome pack and the little touches, like fresh milk in the fridge, were really appreciated. Just on the edge of the Forest of Dean, this was a great location and was perfect for exploring. If you are looking for somewhere to eat we recommend The Kings Head (9 miles away on the a40 towards Gloucester) where the homemade Steak & Kidney pie was to die for! The cottage is some way down a little winding lane but is easy to find. We could get mobile phone signals but no internet access with Three Mobile. This place is highly recommended, great value, and we will definately be going back for a second visit.see more
