My husband and I stayed in this rental with two teenage boys. We thought the property was as beautiful as it could be, with mountains and hills all around. There was a lot of room to spend time outdoors playing ball, etc. I went for walks on the gravel road with barely any cars driving by. Very peaceful.
The property has a pond and river that you could fish in, although we catch anything. The water was pretty cold as it was still mountain run-off from melting snow, but I can imagine later in the season there would be a lot of entertainment playing in the water. The rental unit is right next to the owner's house, but they situated the rental in such a way that you don't see the house. The owner leaves for work early in the morning so you hear a garage door, but otherwise it was very quiet.
The studio apartment (which I had forgotten means no separate bedroom) was nicely decorated and pleasant in every way. The kitchen is well stocked and the beds/furniture were comfortable. They had a brand new sleeper couch which stayed comfortable through all 4 nights. There is cable tv and wifi, although sometimes the wifi connection is a bit touchy.
We spent three days in Gardiner and Yellowstone, and I have to say that this rental is a little far away if you want to travel a lot in Yellowstone. Coming into the park at the North entrance means you do a lot of driving to see the sights in addition to the half hour from the house to the park. But the road to the park is gorgeous, so this would not necessarily be a reason to stay away. There is a small grocery store 2 miles away, and Livingston...
