Once, only the birds got to see a view like this. Top floor and tremendously triple aspect, Riverside Court is an eyrie to envy. The sitting room is open plan, the artwork abundant and every last grain of the caramel wood floor glimmers with light. We quite understand should this not be noticed, as from this vantage, the Thames is a staggering sight. A gorgeous roof terrace lets you drink in London’s skyline with a fresh pot of coffee. We would say your location is remarkable too, but you’ll see for yourself…
Ready to soar
Your hosts know all about hitting the heights. He is a music producer and author who has won three Grammy’s for his work. Both love a good book, and regularly retreat to their second home up in Gloucestershire to indulge in the countryside delights.
A little bird told me
Right by the river and sharing airspace with the gulls aren’t the only attractions in a home like this. Large windows illuminate the open plan sitting room, where there’s modern artwork to see, acres of books to read and two snug sofas for lengthy sprawling. Settle in and scan the skyline, or flick on the wall-mounted TV. There’s a nifty dining table for eight, but even the most scenic of riverside eateries can’t compete with the roof terrace. Spacious and beautifully kept, here you can dine, drowse or deepen your tan as you see fit.
The bedrooms, the sitting room and the study all open onto the roof terrace - so the choice is yours! Will it be the master next, with its stunning artwork and indulgent ensuite, the green-tinted double or the serenely book-lined study? Whichever it is, be sure not to miss the original set drawings from a Stravinsky production, or the many objets d’art dotted hither and thither.
In your sights
Laid-back and leafy, Battersea Park is one of London’s best loved lungs. You’re just across the river from the Tate Modern and the genteel pleasures of Pimlico, while Chelsea’s unbeatable bars and shops wait upon your arrival. Amble along the river to the South Bank, or make use of your fantastic transport links. The tube from Vauxhall to Oxford Circus takes only eight minutes, while the ferry across the Thames is just a couple of minutes walk away.
