There is a unique fusion of town and country in this incredibly stylish one bedroom home in fashionable Chelsea. With its enviable position between West London’s two iconic roads, it is clearly as urban as it gets, with the quirky décor within giving this place an unmistakably rustic feel. Fur, cowhide, and leather festoon this home, while animal art and rustic lamps jostle for attention with photographs of New York skylines and a sleek, modern kitchen. The bedroom, meanwhile, is an exercise in opulent fantasy.
A country lad at heart
Your host is a Sussex-based gentleman who works in the financial sector. While his heart belongs to the countryside, he can’t bear to be parted with this spectacular pied-a-terre, with everything in easy reach, and so has decided to share it with you instead.
A sumptuous spot
Set over the second and third floors on one of Chelsea’s prettiest streets, your home is as glamorous and voluptuous as an oligarch’s wife. Enter the living room from the stairs and find a well-lit room of pale greys and rich wooden floors. A chandelier throws a glittering hue over everything, while the ample leather sofa begs for cosy nights in front of the fire. The handsome desk is handy for any guests needing to dash off an epistle , while the sheepskin rug is ideal for the more meditative visitor.
Head through into the well equipped, open plan kitchen of glossy black cupboards and sleek white surfaces and whip up a feast, or sit in the corner and natter away while someone else takes up the pots and pans. The bedroom is undoubtedly the jewel in the crown, with its baroque king bed, soft lighting, artfully distressed furniture and elegant white sofa. While the en suite bathroom is slick but the very opposite of demonstrative. And don’t forget the terrace for those sun-kissed evenings with a bottle of wine and good company.
The pleasures of the town
From the finest shops to the most exclusive clubs and restaurants, there is nothing you can’t find in Chelsea. Lunch at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay or the newly refurbished Tom Aikens, and shop on the King’s Road before seeing a show in Sloane Square’s Royal Court theatre. You can even watch Chelsea play at Stamford Bridge. London is your oyster.
