How on earth did they do it? From the outside, Aberdeen Place is handsome and stately, with little clue of what its four walls conceal. Inside, it’s a design paradise – indeed, this home has played host to photo shoots and even a pop-up art gallery. The building’s elegant proportions and fantastic energy have been harnessed in combination with artefacts Asian and antique. The result is a fresh, spacious home that’s at once modern and timeless. Explore nearby Little Venice, take in a game at Lord’s and jog around Regent’s Park. Or, if the weather’s less than clement, you’ve your own private gym and sauna, so you never need face the raindrops at all.
Your hostess is originally from Russia, and she met your American host in Barcelona. She runs an interior design company- so if you like what you see, you can engage her services! When not working, they can be found in art galleries, at the theatre, or slamming balls on the tennis court.
Design for life
Two hundred years of history are imbued in the walls of this home, and you’ll feel that warmth the second you step inside. The large sitting room can be split into two rooms by the swing of a door, and here you’ll find a chandelier, parquet flooring and a large TV. Up to six can pile onto the enormous sofa, and you’ll adore the fretwork chair. The kitchen and dining room are downstairs in the basement, with doors out onto the patio garden. The kitchen displays a modern Asian influence, while the dining room is simple, yet sumptuous. Down here, too, you’ll find a mirrored gym with a treadmill and cross trainer, a panelled cloakroom, sauna and shower.
The garden itself is wonderfully private, so you can enjoy the barbeque, sun loungers and fountain without worrying about your neighbours. Then, as night falls, explore the bedrooms. The master is large and airy, with original cornicing and oriental cabinets. The luxurious ensuite holds his and hers basins and a walk in shower, glowing in burnished slate. There’s a second double, a family bathroom, and a funky study with a desk and a cherry red sofa, which transforms into a super king-sized bed.
Walk along Regent’s Canal, join the buzz of Camden Lock, or keep it serene with a stroll through Primrose Hill. You’ve an abundance of wonderful local restaurants, serving everything from Lebanese food to pizza, and for antiques lovers, Church Street Market is a must. All this, and the tube from Edgware Road to Oxford Circus takes a miniscule seven minutes.
Additional amenities include: concierge, concierge service, 24 hour on call maintenance, breakfast bar, hob (gas), communications/internet, ipod dock, entertainment....Read more
