It takes a genuine connoisseur to create a home as arrestingly elegant as this one. Your host is a property developer who has brought all his mastery to the designer table when refurbishing Ifiled Road III, his Victorian townhouse. Traditional, yet with a generous dash of the modern, this is a home where every object is well-chosen, and an Asian influence exerts a subtle yet spellbinding pull. Pass an idle afternoon among the grape vines on the roof terrace, or breeze along the leafy streets below. You’ll find the King’s Road just round the corner, while the West End is just a short trip away.
When he’s not applying his signature interior design look to the homes of the capital, your host loves to travel, read, or watch the latest Scandinavian crime drama. A Londoner born and bred, he savours both the serenity of his location, as well as its closeness to the buzz and bustle.
Blue sky thinking
Bounteous light floods the sitting room, courtesy of two distinctly impressive sash windows. With an ornate fireplace perched beneath the finest cornicing, this is a handsomely traditional space, where that glass of claret can be sipped upon marvellously cushy sofas. Let the delicious aroma of Indian spice envelope you in the sleek kitchen, resplendent in marble and chrome, before it’s off to the dining room where eight can sit and eat amid cool Asian ornaments and a zesty Bengal rose colour scheme.
A funky walk-in shower and tempting array of our White Company toiletries beckon in the huge bathroom, while the master bedroom is a brilliant, uncluttered white, boasting its own gleaming ensuite. Lavender-fresh walls lend the guest bedroom an airy, feminine feel that’s only matched by the flowers nodding their heads upon the beautifully designed roof terrace. Here, take your nightcap out beneath the starry sky before falling into delicious sleep.
With both the King’s Road and Fulham Road nearby, shoppers will have more boutiques than they can shake a designer handbag at. Many restaurants and bars cluster nearby, too, not least the celebrated Nikita’s, which happens to be just up the road. Take a scenic stroll along the river, ramble in Battersea Park, or set a path for the West End. The tube from West Brompton to Piccadilly Circus takes around twenty minutes.
