Spotted – an exceptionally beautiful home, deep in some of the most enviable territory in town. Homes like these are all too rare, and a specimen as fantastic as this is a truly thrilling find. Its rooms are blissfully comfortable, their pale walls enlivened with bold dashes of colour. And its habitat is equally as special, just off Kensington High Street, close to watering holes, to grooming parlours and some exceptionally delicious food supplies. Roam the savannah of Holland Park, browse the museums or pad across to Notting Hill. When a home is this sought after, you’ll have to be fast… catch it while you can.
Hold me tight
Your hosts flit between London and their cottage in Hampshire. She works in finance, and they’ve two playful young cubs.
I think I love you
Light, bright and glittering with sunshine, the sitting room of Abingdon Road III will have you purring. Curl up on the snug white sofa beneath original cornicing and an elegant chandelier, that cheetah tearing across the wall above the fireplace. While the day is warm, sit out on the terrace… but if rain threatens, you won’t feel shut in. The open plan kitchen diner has views out onto the garden terrace below, and a superb glass dining table seats up to eight. The appliances are all brand new, and if you prefer to eat on the hoof, there’s a handy breakfast bar. There are three bedrooms, a cute single down on the ground floor, and a clever double which transforms into an extra living space with just the flip of a handle. And as for the master bedroom… this is a space fit for the king of the beasts. Not only have you a huge bed and acres of floor space, but there’s a decadent sandstone ensuite with a freestanding bath, and a powerful shower which demands a dawn chorus.
Prowl down both Abingdon Road and Kensington High Street for great British brands, one-off boutiques and all sorts of excellent dining, from cafes up to a la carte restaurants, all on your doorstep. If you prefer to forage, you’ve got Europe’s largest Whole Foods, while Holland Park boasts some of the finest grocers in the city. Visit the Natural History Museum, walk to Notting Hill and Kensington Gardens, or its a quick hop into other central locations. The tube from High Street Kensington to Oxford Circus takes seventeen minutes.
