Charismatic Five Bed Family Pad, Westhorpe Road, Putney
Description from the manager
Set in the middle of a pretty Victorian terrace this generously proportioned family home is well placed for the local amenities and transport links of Putney High Street. Westhorpe Road itself, is a residential road quietly located away from Lower Richmond Road. You are just a short walk from the banks of the River Thames and the wide open space of Barnes Common. The property offers five spacious bedrooms and plenty of room for children, making it the obvious choice for a family getaway.
Wooden floors run throughout the ground floor leading you from the hallway towards the back of the property where you will find the open plan kitchen and dining area, a new and sparkly addition to the property. With a kitchen island, integrated appliances and even a wall-mounted TV, you'll find it easy to prepare meals at home. The large wooden table seats six comfortably. This room is exceptionally light, with Velux windows overhead and featuring folding glass doors along the back wall which open out to allow the outdoors in. The good-sized garden has a sociable decking space, should you wish to make the most of the English sunshine, as well as a smaller area of astro turf at the end of garden.
There is an adjoining play area for the children which links the kitchen to the front of the property and the beautifully decorated sitting room. Adorned with worldly treasures, an ottoman sits in the west-facing bay window, there is a sofa, rug, coffee table and two striped printed armchairs, facing the fireplace and television perched atop of a Chinese wedding cabinet. This room allows the grown ups and any younger family members to all come together after a day out sightseeing. Heading back into the hall there is a conveniently located downstairs cloakroom.
At the top of the first flight of stairs there are three of the five bedrooms and family bathroom all on the first floor. The bathroom is newly fitted, with heated towel rails, mirror-fronted medicine cabinet and bath with rain effect shower head above. The first of the childrens bedrooms has a single bed, fitted wardrobe, shelf space and a window looking out over the garden. The second has two cots in situ, however there is enough space to fit in an aero bed should this be more suitable. The master bedroom benefits from both a bay window and separate sash both overlooking the quiet residential road below. There is a free-standing wardrobe as well as full height built-in wardrobes for storage. The velvet curtains, ornate dressing table and metallic wallpaper gives this bedroom an air of sophistication. The bed itself, a double, is flanked by two bedside tables each with their own reading lamps.
Up on the second floor are two further bedrooms. The smaller one, to the rear, benefits from a large double bed with bedside and Velux window with a view out over the chimney tops. At the other end of the landing, another double bedroom, this time with dual aspect with Juliet balcony to the garden and two skylights. There is even a deep blue tiled en-suite hidden in the eaves with both a bath (with view) and separate shower cubicle, wash basin and WC.
Located in the charming riverside neighbourhood of Putney, this property is a 5 minute walk from the Thames embankment. Take a stroll along the river and watch the rowing clubs competing against the tides from Putney Bridge. When the sun is out there isn't a more delightful part of the city to be in with its shaded paths and picturesque views. Not only is this part of the city peaceful and secluded it also has a huge array of restaurants and shops to suit your every mood!
