Long Marton is a characterful fell side village at the foot of the Pennines, 3 miles east of the market town of Appleby and 10 miles from Penrith. There are a number of facilities in the village including garden centre, pub and bakery. The Settle to Carlisle railway line runs adjacent to the village and it is only 3 miles from the Pennine Way, making it an ideal location for those who enjoy walking and cycling either in the Pennine hills or the quiet country lanes of the Eden Valley.
Stevens Barn is a recently refurbished, in contemporary style, three storey barn conversion. It offers ideal accommodation for a family or two couples holidaying together, furnished and equipped to an exceptionally high standard with an eclectic mixture of furnishings and collectables. The barn is upside down style to take in the views from the lounge.
The ‘upside down' accommodation is oil centrally heated and comprises:

Excellent renovated Barn on 3 levels, really comfortable dining and living areas. 2 very nice bedrooms with plenty of room and storage for clothes etc. The whole Barn conversion was modern and well equipped, an abundance of audio and Visual electrics in all rooms (With free Wifi). Even a Laptop and Electric Bass guitar for guests to use!!
Great location in a lovely quiet village yet quick and easy access to both Eden Valley and Lake District locations.

The cottage was beautifully furnished and had everything you could have wished for. The bottle of local Cumbrian wine on arrival was a nice touch. The village pub served lovely food and Long Marton is within easy reach of a variety of Lake Disctrict locations

We booked this property over the Internet. When we arrived at Stevens Barn we were more than pleased, an excellent cottage or we should say converted barn. Very well equipped and in excellent condition. Very quiet little village with a very friendly pub to eat in just around the corner. We also found a few other excellent places to eat locally all which accepted us and our dog with open arms. Would definately visit here again

I was a bit apprehensive when I made this booking at Stevens barn as there were no prior reviews. However, this is one of the best barn conversions I have ever been at and it is a 5 star self catering cottage. The only let down is its location and is a bit far from main lakes. It takes a good one hour to reach any of the popular lakes. If someone is planning to stay away from the busy tourists and looking for a place to relax and venture out for walks nearby then this is place to be.

We enjoyed 7 nights in a superbly equipped cottage in the Eden Valley. The owners generously share all their own equipment and home comforts with their paying guests, including great sound systems in all rooms. The village is very quiet but well placed for trips into the Lakes or Pennines and has great nearby walks. Will definitely return.
