The Station House was completed in 1918 by the US Cost Guard and designated Station 1 in District 1. It housed officers and crews to rescue boaters and service lighthouses up to 50 miles distant. It was decommissioned in 1970. The Station house authentically restored 2002 with 4 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths, is ideal for family and friends vacationing together. The Cabin at West Quoddy Station is located on West Quoddy Head, Lubec, Maine, the Easternmost Point in the United States. The Cabin has its own deck and offers panoramic views over the Bay, with 2 lighthouses, of Lubec, Eastport and Campobello. The Cabin is 1/2 mile from West Quoddy Light House in Quoddy Head State Park. There are many fine, scenic hiking trails in the Park, particularly the Bog Walk, and surrounding area within 20-30 minutes.

West Quoddy Station is 10 minutes to the Canadian border [passport required], 12 minutes to Roosevelt's FDR International Park on Campobello, New Brunswick. A great option is to walk to East Quoddy Light House at Head Harbor, Campobello. At low tide, you may walk down a steel staircase. across a sand bar, up a steel staircase, 100 yards across a small island, across a wooden bridge to a second island where you may visit the Light Keepers House and go up in the tower. From the tower, you view whales, seals, eagles, etc.

There are whale watching tours and puffin tours nearby. There is fine birding with eagles overhead. The photographic opportunities are unlimited. The roads are fine for cycling. Runners can practice and then run the Bay of Fundy Marathon which starts 1/2 mile away. And, most of all, the Cabin is a great place to relax and enjoy the beauty and serenity of this special Downeast destination.
