Description
In the enchanting little village of Vicopelago, close to the historic centre of Lucca, Villa Mori rises out of the heart of the Tuscan countryside.
All around, the gentle hills are dotted with olive groves, vineyards and acacia woods - enhancing the view and offering the ideal cradle on the verdant plain for the historic little city of Lucca.
In this parklike green space, an area of 10,000 square meters, and surrounded by the original stone walls, we find the main ‘padronale’ Villa, from the second half of the 15th century recently restored.
The recently finished restoration has paid maximum attention and respect to the structure and characteristics of the original – without sacrificing the functionality and conveniences needed to ensure that a stay at Villa Mori is comfortable in every way.
The villa has spacious lounges on the ground floor and a kitchen with characteristic vaulted ceilings, lending an air of refined elegance.
The beautiful dining room, which faces the north side of the garden, has an original coffered ceiling and stone vaulting.
On the first floor there is the grand salon with frescoed walls and furnished with pieces representative of the age of the villa. It fills the central zone of the villa and offers a relaxing place for guests with comfortable sofas in front of an immense stone fireplace.
From here there is access to the six bedrooms – all with independent bathrooms.
Fully air conditioned, lift, disabled bathroom, Spa and wine cellar further ensure that Villa Mori caters for every need.
THE GARDEN
The historic garden, representative of its age and situated to the north of the property, is divided into compartments of geometrical box hedge in the traditional manner, characterised by paths typical of the villas of the time.
An exuberant climbing rose of delicate hues covers the pergola in the garden. Olive trees, cypresses, box hedge and climbing roses add to the visual impact and perfume the air with their fragrance.
THE SWIMMING POOL
Villa Mori offers guests a stunning infinity pool (9m x16m, maximum depth 1.5m), with constant disinfected salt water filtration, equipped with a jacuzzi area and seating that also allows children to safely use the pool and facilities.
Surrounded by a large lawn, there is also a beautiful pergola with a climbing rose.
The fragrant atmosphere makes this a truly natural paradise and is perfect for a swim, a relaxing read, or simply a pleasant place to sunbathe.
SPA | STARPOOL
The SPA Villa Mori consists of over 200 square meters and is divided into four rooms in a refined, and at the same time welcoming, space. Natural wood ceilings and materials and soft colours create a precious refuge in the house.
Guests can enjoy a Turkish bath, sauna, cold mist shower scented with eucalyptus, an exhilarating ice fall, or the relaxation area with salt wall.
The latter, consisting of rock salt bricks, allows the release of trace elements into the air at a temperature of about 30 degrees and humidity of about 40%, encouraging relaxation and physical wellbeing.
SPA Gourmand
In the SPA guests have the opportunity to choose different paths to physical wellbeing - with a unique sensory journey where even taste sensations are not forgotten. Each path is characterised by a change in ambient using steam, soft breeze, sauna, cold reactions and pure relaxation. The leisurely journey is accompanied not only by changes in sound, light, colour and fragrance but also includes a selection of carefully chosen infusions, herbal teas and fresh fruit.
WINE CELLAR
A well-stocked and typically Tuscan wine cellar is available for guests.
There is a wide selection of red, white and prosecco wines from various regions of Italy.
Available on request, a sommelier will be happy to assist with the tasting and/or purchase of wines, advising on the combining of wine and food and offering a simple snack or more refined dishes, paired expertly by the chef.
The villa can accommodate up to 12 guests but there is the possibility for another 23 people to stay in the farmhouse (Casa Rossa) and the Annex (Fienile) within the grounds of the same property.
