Explore the South Shore on the Lighthouse Route, which starts at Peggy's Cove, ends near Liverpool, and winds through fishing villages, delightful towns and hamlets, and scores of broad, white, sandy beaches. Lunenburg is the highlight, as it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and has a memorable historic waterfront - home of the original racing schooner Bluenose, of Bluenose II, and launched in the fall of 2012 with great fanfare and celebration, the restored Bluenose II.
