Carretas 101 is one of eight prime location, luxury, two-bedroom apartments, available exclusively from Spain Select. Situated just off the Puerta del Sol, the Carretas apartments put Madrid's most important attractions within walking distance. In less than five minutes, visitors can step out of the apartment building and walk directly to the city's famous Plaza Mayor, the centrepiece of the "old Madrid" district known as Austrian Madrid . Just beyond the Plaza, visitors can continue walking to the Royal Palace and the Cathedral of the Almudena. Leaving the apartment and walking 10-15 minutes in the other direction, will lead visitors to the Atocha Train Station, and Madrid's three renowned art museums: the Prado, the Reina Sofia and the Thyssen-Bornemisza. The Puerta del Sol is one of the most well-known and busiest places in Madrid. This famous square is where the clock hangs that rings in the New Year in Spain, prompting Spaniards to eat a grape for each of the twelve chimes. Adjacent to the square is an extensive shopping district, which includes several buildings of the "El Corte Inglés" department store chain. Crowded with tourists and locals by day, the area is also lively in the evenings as there are many restaurants, cafés and bars nearby. Just a short distance away is the Plaza de Santa Ana, where there are many terraces for dining outdoors. As the geographic centre of both the city and, in fact, the entire country, the Puerta del Sol has excellent communications. Spain Select Carretas is a building that has been completely reconstructed in its interior, whilst maintaining its original façade from the nineteenth century. Each apartment has been professionally decorated and equipped with top quality furnishings, original artwork and designer pieces such as the lamps. Carretas I is a bright two bedroom apartment, which has a living room with two balconied windows that look out onto the street below. It has marble floors throughout, the soft tones of which contrast nicely with the property's bold blue paintwork and decorative elements. The two bedrooms are situated in the interior of the building and are very quiet. The second bedroom has a single twin bed and ample wardrobe space. Please note that whilst the building has an elevator, there is a small staircase before you reach the lobby . Please Note: The apartment is located in an area of Madrid with traffic restrictions and is only open to residents, public transport and our airport transfer service.
Surface Area: 70 m2. First floor. The entrance hall leads into a large living / dining area with two balconies facing out onto the street. It is furnished with a 3-seater sofa, two armchairs, a wooden coffee table, a shelving unit with an LCD TV, DVD player and a wooden dining table for four. Along the corridor are two bedrooms (with fitted wardrobes): 1 double bedroom (queen-sized bed 1.60m x 1.90m) and 1 single bedroom (twin bed 0.90m x 1.90m). There is a bathroom with a walk-in shower. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator / freezer, an oven, a 4-ring ceramic hob (stove), washing machine and a breakfast bar with two stools. There is an additional half bathroom. There is marble flooring throughout the property, except for the bathroom and kitchen, which are tiled.

On our day of arrival we were met at unit by one of Spain Selects agents. Victor was awesome. We gave us a walk through of the unit then provided us with a map of the area and highlighted all the "must see" locations and restaurants. The Carretas 101 unit was true to form, although I maybe visualized it a little bigger. However, it had all the amenities and comforts of home. There were 3 of us that stayed in the unit and we never felt crowded. What I loved most was the location. It was centrally located and walking distance to all the main Madrid attractions. Outside the front door were cafes, shops, restaurants and a beautiful plaza.
The entire experience from arrival to departure was perfect. Spain Select's customer service was wonderful, their agents were attentive and accomadating. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
