“A wonderful experience with way more than we expected!!” Our stay in your beautiful abode was the 'cherry on top' of our great, Ireland experience. The setting is absolutely stunning, out in the beautiful countryside, with close proximity to town. All we might possibly need was readily available. We enjoyed the best of both worlds with all the modern gadgets in an old-world atmosphere. Your warm hospitality was an added bonus. Rosies Cottage, 4* self-catering cottage, Maghera

The Heart of Northern Ireland

From the outside it looks like the quintessential thatched roof cottage, on the inside, all the comforts of modern living without losing any nostalgic value. Of all the amenities our absolute favorite was the turf burning stove in the living room. The cottage is situated just outside of Maghera making it a convenient hub from which to explore Northern Ireland. We spent a day in Londonderry/Derry, the next at the Giant's Causeway and Bushmills Distillery, the next driving the coastal roads looking for castles and scenic views, and our last day exploring Belfast. I wish we had more time and been able to explore around Maghera itself. The Sperrin Mountains are right there with suggested driving routes and walking trails. The following can be listed as a Pro or a Con but it should be noted that at the time of our stay there is no internet at the cottage. This in no way should discourage you from staying at Rosies Cottage. If you need internet access but don't want the high data plan costs we found that most tourist information centers have free wifi, as does Bushmills Distillery. I did not recommend Rosies Cottage for the "Luxury Minded Travelers" not because it lacks anything but just because it is hard to define what "Luxury" is to different individuals.
