“We had a great vacation experience at Cliffside..” We had a marvelous time during our stay at Cliffside and thoroughly enjoyed our trip and the use of this beautiful home with our friends. It was a great location-close to the park and town, but nestled amongst the trees for relaxing privacy. We saw deer behind the house several mornings and took some great pictures of a hawk perched in the tree just beyond our deck. The trails behind the house and Sand Point Road were convenient for morning hiking and jogging. Several mornings we enjoyed our coffee on the decks with their peaceful views of the bay. This lovely home provided a great base for visiting Bar Harbor and acadia- whale watching, visits to Cadillac Mountain, Sand Beach, Thunder Hole, and the Thuya Gardens. We hiked around Jordan Pond and enjoyed the tea and popovers, visited Schoodic Peninsula, and took a carriage tour of the bridges. We really appreciated Bonnie's suggestions for dining and activities to enjoy, and everything went very smoothly from beginning to end. The weather was great and we had a wonderful time.

“Close to Nirvana” It would be difficult to find a better spot for spending a vacation than the Quietside of Mt. Desert, and the Gray Barn experience is part of the fun. The accomodations are modern and in great shape, and the windows both have a great view over upper Bass Harbor and give great air circulation. Access to cellphone and internet coverage is a convenience. The kitchen is very functional, though you'll want to visit the lobster pounds and restaurants in the area. A perfect base for hiking in acadia National Park. The week we were there was perfect for using the owner's kayaks in the upper harbor and the estuary beyond. We've stayed three different years and will be happy to return.

“A perfect home for our family getaway!” Tranquility on Penobscot Bay was truly a wonderful experience for my entire family! Everything we needed was supplied and the house was very spacious and comfy! All of the beds had great mattresses which was so nice. The kitchen was well stocked. We loved the big yard surrounding the house and the blueberry bushes right off the side porch was an added plus! Every morning my grandchildren went out and picked their own berries for breakfast! We were in the area to attend a wedding at French's Point which was located just a few miles down the road! It was so convenient to participate in wedding events throughout the week! On our one rainy day there, we made a fire and just relaxed in the spacious living area! Loved having a gas grill out on the large deck that wrapped around the house and we used it almost every night! Rocking chairs on the deck for early morning coffee, too! The ages in our family went from 60's down to 1 year old and everyone had the best time ever! Would return to this special home in a heartbeat!

Modern, totally unique Old Log Cabin in Maine

“The best log cabin you would ever want to stay in.” We adored our stay in this log cabin. It was truly comfortable. Much to our liking, was the living and kitchen area with its high ceilings. (The kitchen was well-equipped with the necessary dishes, pots and pans and a variety of coffee makers.) The loft had both a sleeping and sitting area, which was greatly appreciated by all our visitors as were also the other two bedrooms. The cabin is well-decorated (nautical style and colors), well-lighted and had the necessary gas stove, electric heaters, air-conditioning and ceiling fans for whatever kind of weather was on hand during our stay. We especially liked the screened-in porch where we took our morning coffee and often had dinner out there, too. The cabin was within walking distance of the village with its shops and restaurants. We loved walking down to Barrett Park, which was only 5 minutes away. Lovely view. The service was impeccable. Mrs. Taylor saw to everything and kept in touch regularly to see if all was fine. Even the cleaning lady saw to all our needs. We have rented many cottages in the past, but have never liked one of them as much as we have liked this one, and I would never hesitate to rent it again. Thank you Yuko and Dave Taylor for all your efforts in making our stay so special.

“A Little Bit of Heaven” Several years ago I had the good fortune to rent this cottage "sight unseen" and have been returning each year for 10 or so years which tells you how much I love it here. Dream about it in the winter too. It is immaculate, close to a small beach, stores, and not too far from Rockland and Camden. If I could, I would spend the summer here and be in heaven! Tranquil, beautiful, soothing and good for the soul are some of the ways I would describe Hupper Cottage. The owners are terrific and most accommodating. In my opinion you won't find a better place to stay in Maine for rest and relaxation! Walking and sight seeing are great, and the lobster and sunsets are fabulous! Great hub for sightseeing in mid-coast Maine as well.

“This is very clean, well-accomodated, and in a great location!” Our family just returned from a week in this great cabin. We wanted to be very close to acadia National Park, but not in a busy area. The location was perfect for this. The cabin is within walking distance of a small town with great restaurants and stores, and a very short drive (some 5 minutes, some 10 minutes, some 15 minutes) to all the sights of the national park. And when you return to the cabin you experience its quiet and natural setting at its best. It was rejuvenating to be there. The owners have obviously taken a lot of time and effort to make their home user-friendly. It comes equipped with everything you need for cooking and relaxing. Everything is clean and cared for, and the entire cabin has a cozy yet spacious feel to it. Very highly recommended!

“A very enjoyable stay in New Harbor” The Fletchers went out of their way to ensure that we had a good stay at the Finch Cottage. They provided detailed information on things to do and restaurants in the area. They also asked our specific interests and provided information geared especially to us. The cottage met our needs very well. It was quaint and cozy but with all the modern amenities, including Wi-Fi. The kitchen was well stocked and most things provided.

“perfect” We love Oar Island. It is the perfect vacation place for families with children of different ages, or just a couple. There is hiking, sunning, relaxation, but mostly what we love about Oar Island is the isolation. It is an adventure as well, since the only way to get there is by the little motorboat. It is a getaway for certain kinds of people; but if you prefer the Marriott type of stay, this is not that kind, it is much more "out-doorsy".

“Couldn't ask for more!” This rental cottage was extremely well equipped and spotless. The owners were very hospitable and were available for all our needs including questions concerning the Camden area. The lawn and gardens were well maintained. We spent many evenings sitting in the adirondack chairs on the front lawn and many mornings enjoying our coffee on the back deck. The location was ideal as we could walk into town to shop, sight see and sit by the harbor and watch the boats while enjoying an ice cream from a nearby ice cream shop. We were four senior citizens looking for a quiet, comfortable and friendly locale and we found it here. We all said we would definitely return to Camden and stay at this home-away-from-home again.

“clean,quiet and comfortable” very conviently located,to all that taht mid-coast Maine has to offer. Bed was comfortable and kitchen well equiped. The outside porch was a great place to relax after a busy day,with a nice view of the beautiful gardens. Within a short distance you will find several good local resturants and shopping. Margaret is a wonderful hostess and makes you feel right at home. Also,it is a great value for anyone not needing special handicap access.

“Beautiful setting on Kennebeck River” Husband and I stayed short of a week, enjoyed the screened porch watching the activity on the Kennecbeck, especially the tour boat loaded with fellow vacationers.Cottage was very pleasant and had everything we needed. But we did find the upstairs stairs a little hard for us to maneuver being rather steep and narrow, so we utilized the sleeper sofa that was very comfortable located downstairs all in all we managed fine and enjoyed our time ar White Rocks, owner lives within view of cottage at end of road we frequented the Georgetown store for their huge dinner plate size blueberry pancakes which my husband enjoyed frequently.
