Our condo in Mammoth View Villas is a second home for us and is in a very quiet location set back from the road. Our building has only 4 units in it, two studios below and two studio/loft units above. So there is never anyone walking on top of your head or tromping down the hall in ski boots. The only sound you may hear is the snow sliding off the roof, the birds singing, or the whistling wind.
The condo is a non-smoking studio/loft unit with 2 bathrooms and a beautiful view of the mountains and Crowley Lake. It has a full kitchen with brand new stove, refrigerator, and dishwasher, microwave, wood-burning fireplace, 32" TV, VCR, DVD, stereo with a cassette and CD player and a phone. It is quite large, approximately 800 sq. ft.
The living room has a new full size futon (very comfortable) and the loft has a queen-size bed and a full bathroom. There are also two single futons. Note that the loft is completely enclosed to provide total privacy for those sleeping upstairs. The entry level has the living room, fireplace, kitchen, dining area and a full bathroom.
The living room area can be divided from the rest of the downstairs in order to provide privacy for those sleeping downstairs. There is a heavy accordian divider that can be pulled across to separate the downstairs into 2 rooms. This unit sleeps up to 4 adults, or 3 adults and 2 children.
Wood, linens, towels, and other necessities are supplied. There is also an extensive collection of books and ski magazines for the times when you are not outdoors. It is a short walk to the new Village where you eat, shop, and enjoy various activities.
No pets or Recreational Vehicles such as campers are allowed. SUVs are fine, of course.
Mammoth Mountain is a four season resort. Just because winter has ended doesn't mean there's nothing to do there. On the contrary, the air is clean and fresh, the skies are blue, it's warm and dry during the day, and it cools down nicely at night. When you are tired of the heat and humidity and pollution of wherever you live, book with us for a refreshing change.
You can bicycle on the roads or trails, have your bike transported to the base of the mountain, or take your mountain bike to the top via the Gondola and ride down from there. You can also take a scenic ride to the top of the mountain. At 11,053 ft. it may be cool, so bring a light jacket. There are numerous lakes and streams for swimming, fishing or boating. There are tons of trails for hiking, rock climbing, backpacking, and camping out. There are a number of festivals which take place throughout the summer. You can enjoy golf or tennis at 8,000 ft. You can also visit the hot creeks or take a day trip to Bodie (old authentic ghost town) or Yosemite.
Note that this is a private unit and is not on a Mammoth rental service. Thus we can provide you with lower rates. However, daily maid service is not provided. We provide a mid-stay clean free of charge for stays of 6 or more days.TripAdvisor property ID 2304810...Read more
Left on 08/08/2010 for a stay in January 2010 | The Bartlett FamilyReviewed Aug 8, 2010Stayed Jan 2010
My family has been renting the Kelman's Mammoth View Villas Condo for many years now, since my 19 year-old-son was a young boy. The condo is always sparkling clean, cozy, and well-appointed for us, my son, and his friends. The kitchen is compact and well-equipped for cooking meals, with a beautiful new stove, full-sized refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker and dishwasher. The dining room accommodates up to 5 comfortably, and the cozy and spacious living room is a great place to watch movies or satellite t.v. The Kelmans have a DVD player and lots of paperback books to read, so we are always well-entertained. My husband and son like to go skiing and snowboarding, while I enjoy the privacy of having the condo to myself during the day. We enjoy the private upstairs bedroom and bath, while my son and friend use the futons and large couch downstairs (the downstairs room can be closed off with an accordion divider from the kitchen and dining area. The condo also has one of the increasingly rare log-burning fireplaces, and we enjoy that every night we are there (the house is well stocked with firewood, and there is also a ski closet right outside the front door). The condo is very close to the gondolas and village, by either a short 2 block walk or a bus ride from right out front of the complex. The area is extremely quiet without a lot of traffic, which eliminates a lot of hassle. We enjoy renting the condo for a week each winter, and would highly recommend this delightful accommodation to anyone who enjoys skiing in Mammoth.
