“Truly Amazing property!” There are no words to describe how wonderful it was to wake up to the magnificent views at Casa Espanola. The concierge and staff at my vacation Costa Rica were very attentive to all our needs. We were there for my girlfriend's bachelorette party and we were a group of 15! From the beginning, geralyn and Amy did a great job planning out our trip. I was very anxious about how the trip was going to turn out because i had never been to Costa Rica, but they were always so prompt with responding to my emails and executing all that was promised. Geralyn set up all of our excursions ahead of time. She even scheduled massages at the property! You won't want to leave this place! The pictures do not do it justice! It is even more beautiful in person. We posted photos on instagram with the hashtag #casaespanola so that you can see some photos from our experience. There were 4 floors and each had an ocean view! It was refreshing being able to wake up to that every morning! Every day, the cleaning staff came and cleaned up the property thoroughly, so the house was so nice every time we got back from our daily outing. Oh and our private chef, Chef Harold, was amazing!!!! He and his wife are so nice and the food is delicious! They have a menu on site and they will cook anything you request as long as they can get the ingredients. I would recommend Costa Rican cuisine because it is really yummy. All you have to pay for is the cost of food. And it is definitely worth it! The beaches are close by and easy to get to. The cost of transportation is about $1.75 per person each way. We had breakfast at Cafe Milagro. Their food is really good and the coffee drinks are deelish! You must see Manuel Antonio park. It is about a 20 minute stroll through the park where you see cute monkeys and other exotic animals. Once you get to the end of the park, you get to Manuel Antonio beach which is totally worth it! We had a blast. We also went to playa biesanz which is nice and private. Our trip was at the beginning of rainy season (May 28th-June 1st). I was really anxious about the weather because of the weather reports. I will say this: please disregard what you see on your weather app. It said that it was 100% precipitation and that it would be cloudy and raining every day. The weather was amazing pretty much all day. It would get cloudy in the late evening and it did rain a couple nights, but Costa Rica is so amazing that it didn't even bother us. Especially since we stayed at casa Española. I forgot to mention that they even provide you with 2 cell phones in case you need to get in touch with your concierge! How amazing is that? You can use the phone to make any local calls. So after the first couple days, i was able to call my own taxi lol I’m sure some of the other girls will post a review so you can definitely see how happy we were with our experience! Stay here! You won't be disappointed! To Amy, Geralyn and the rest of the staff at My Vacation Costa Rica, Thank you again for your hard work and the amazing experience!

“We are hooked.” This was our second trip to the Casa and we must say it was better than the first. My wife and I had 10 days to explore and take in the Country like we had never before. We found the rainy season (Sept) more to our liking and would highly recommend that time of the year to truly experience the beauty of the region. Cannot say enough about Randy's staff and hospitality, something truly unique in todays environment. As I Titled this review as being hooked for it truly did hook us, to the point we have purchased a house east of Parrita and are moving up our retirement dates. Pura Vida Jane and Bill Wright Lake Wales, FL. Ps. Randy sorry for being late on this review, however we have been busy with making the move. (Neighbor)

“Beautiful Home in Manuel antonio!” Our stay in Manuel antonio was wonderful. We went with a group of 7 and the house accommodated us well. We made a few breakfasts and dinners in the kitchen and even used the grill a few nights. We loved spending our morning and evenings poolside before or after the beach. Tom, the house manager, made our stay superb. He was able to coordinate day trips, tell us about the best restaurants in town, as well as take us to pick up groceries. We went zip lining, enjoyed a sunset cruise, and visited the national park. We got in ample beach time each day by relying on the buses or taxis which were affordable and timely. We ate delicious seafood every day and enjoyed the happy hours. You can pay in dollars, but it is easier to have colones. Would definitely stay again!

“Puts the "ahh" back in "awesome"” The following description can only begin to illustrate what a lovely place this is. Look at the pictures, it is actually as good as they promise. The house is beautifully situated on a hill side overlooking sea and forests. It is convenient as well as romantic. Our youngest spent a lot of time exploring new angels from which you could see through the house and the many balconies. From the house we saw - not glimpsed, but observed up close and for sometimes extended periods of time: A sloth, monkeys, armadillos, a giant toad, hummingbirds, lots of colorful birds, lizards, land crabs and a poisonous frog. All though we kept the doors and windows open night and day when we were home, we saw no unwelcome creatures inside the house. Only the geckos who hunted along the ceilings during the night. Howler monkeys howled when the sun set and rose. The area provided excellent possibilities for rest and recreation: We tried mangrove kayaking, scuba diving, snorkeling, white water rafting and zip-lining. All arranged by the care taker's daughter and all within 30 minutes drive from the house, where we were picked up for the tours. We walked the 10 minutes to the closest "secret" beach or drove for five minutes to get to the more public, but far from crowded, wide beach. Every night we ate at a new restaurant of which there are plenty within walking distance. Some nights we also drove the 10 minutes to Quepos, the nearest town. Any needs we might discover during our stay was taken immediately care of by the caretaker. The only drawback of the place is that it is inaccessible to people with disabilities. The price of the breathtaking view is a stair with exactly 100 rather breathtaking steps from the road to the door. All in all a very nice place to spend your holidays.

1B/1b Pete's Place C.R. Cottage

Manuel Antonio cottage

“Great Value!” We stayed at La Nina for a month from mid-January to mid-February. It is within a gated property, making it very secure. The cottage has a fully-equipped kitchen with all the utensils and appliances one needs to make meals. The appliances are fully functioning and sparkling clean. As a matter of fact, we made many dinners 'at home' because fresh fruits, veggies, meat and seafood are readily available from the supermarket only a few minutes from the cottage. The weekend farmers' market is not to be missed for those who love to cook. There is a small selection of dvds in the cottage. Bring your own and relax in the evenings with a beer or two, or a bottle of wine. You can also play music from your own device and enjoy! Although the daytime temperatures were higher than normal while we were there, the four ceiling fans kept the place cool and comfortable. If you really need to cool off, the swimming pool is the pièce de résistance! There is plenty of storage space in the bedroom. The ensuite bathroom is spacious. Alicia, the housekeeper, comes three times a week to clean and refresh towels and bed linens. Maxwell and Sascha, Pete's canine ambassadors, will always remind you of their presence albeit in the most unintrusive ways! For what we were asked to pay for the cottage, it is the best deal in town.

“Very modern place with upgraded key essentials” I have stayed in places where the photos and the actual place simply do not match up. This place is beautiful and even better in person. We by chance stayed while the owners were also on vacation and what a pleasant experience. They are passionate about this place down to the detail of the sheet thread count and quality of the towels. There concierge was excellent and the recommendations for everything from food to adventures was right on. The way the small houses are laided out are very private and quaint. The decorations to the kitchen items provided were very impressive. The location is close to everything. I am big on bathrooms and was very satisfied. We will definitely stay here again this summer or for sure next year. The price was very competitive and after looking around at other places in this price range nothing and I mean nothing compared.

“Absolutely fantastic” We were a family of 8 travelling from Canada... 4 daughters aged 12 to 23, son-in-law and boyfriend, plus my wife and I. Everything about the trip was fantastic. The listing was not accurate...because the pictures don't do it justice! Unbelievable size, layout, comfort, etc. and what a view. The monkeys came by most days and the weather was perfect. Absolutely perfect. We were very comfortable with 8 people ...and there was room for more. Alex is excellent in his organizing of all our activities. We tried the horse back riding, repelling, national park tour and catamaran sail. All highly recommended. He organizes for pick up and drop off at the front door. Local restaurants were excellent too. Although cab drivers told us the walk to the beach was either "too long or too dangerous (due to traffic)", we walked it every day without problem. It was a great way to get some exercise after spending a day at the beach. Another thing alex did was organize an on-site meal provided by a local chef (Kukula?). It was one of the best meals we have ever had, and we do a lot of travelling. We didn't rent a car, as the local grocery store was within walking distance, as were the restaurants, and we didn't mind the 20 minute walk to the beach. We flew to San Jose, and alex organized the 2 1/2 trip for pick up and drop off at the end of the stay. The house was cleaned every day (we didn't realize that), and there are laundry facilities on site. We definitely over-packed. This is a flip flop and short/swim suit vacation. We didn't need to wear a sweater at any time during our stay. We will go back and I recommend this for families, couples, etc. The only caution I would have is for those with small children. The building code is no where near the restrictions that we have in Canada, and as such, the area around the main floor, infinity pool and stairs may be a safety hazard for small children. For adults, it adds to the beauty of this spectacular place! A+++

“Over the top Hospitality and Care!” My husband and I made the decision to visit Light of Dawn after our daughter's awesome honeymoon and wedding experience at Light of Dawn 3 years prior to our stay. This is a completely worry-free travel experience because Deborah and Pete attend to your every need. From your transportation, food, and excursions, your hosts gladly advise and accommodate whatever you desire. You will feel like family with Edgar, your chef, Clara, your housekeeper, Deborah and Pete, your hosts as you enjoy the lush beauty of Costa Rica. My husband even cooked with Edgar during our stay, fun! We did the zip-line, river rafting, sunset sail, and the Vanilla plantation tours and loved them all. The people of Costa Rica are so humble, kind, and joyful. They love sharing their culture with you. Enjoy!

“Dream Wedding Come True: Stunning, Unique, Tranquil, Exciting, Inviting” I was fortunate enough to have my wedding in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica, and even more extremely fortunate to have it at PDV. I never imagined I would get to have an adventurous beach/jungle wedding, yet get to be in such luxury and tranquility at the same time. PDV allowed me and my guests to feel like we were set directly in nature with the most fabulous connection to beach and jungle, yet get to feel so comfortable, pampered and taken care of by the fabulous staff and amazing accommodations. PDV has it ALL and allows for ANY type of fun, peace, relaxation, partying, natural connection, and more. The best things about it are the views, the luxurious rooms and architecture, the nearby access to beach and jungle, the FABULOUS daily breakfasts, the amazingly nice and helpful staff and the true feeling of happiness and relaxation while you're there! I couldn't have imagined anything more for my wedding and I would 1000% recommend it to anyone wanting to get married or take a family or friend group vacation in Costa Rica! We are absolutely planning to go back in a few years for a reunion trip (and I wish we could go back right now!!!)

TRANQUILLO

This was my first trip to Costa Rica and I was skeptical at first. However, with the help and reassurance from Randy it eased the worry of traveling to a unfamiliar place. He was over reassuring that this was the place to be. The house was amazing in all aspects. I loved the rocky road and trip up the mountain to the estate in that you could take all the scenery in as you drove up the mountain. The ticos up and down the hill were always friendly and waived to you. What made the trip for us though was Thomas and Rosie. Thomas and Rosie were the most kind people I have ever met and went over the top out their way to make sure every second of our stay was a unforgettable one. It was. Oscar was invitingly friendly as well. I can not say enough things about the house, Randy, Thomas, Rosie and Oscar but I can say if you are deciding to visit Costa Rica "THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE". I can not wait to revisit the friends I have made there. PURA VIDA Todd Smith Madison. Mississppisee more

A trip to paradise

Fun, sun, relaxations and truly an education. You can find all that at Casa Tres Palmas. We just spent 6 wonderful days there. The house is everything you need for your vacation. Roomy, well laid out and the pool is the right touch for the end of the day swim after all your beach and zip line adventures. It is truly in between Quepos and Manuel antonio. We actually walk into town one day to the central market. All excursions will pick you up at the house. Tom B. the house manager was excellent in helping us pick choices in daily activities and our wife's loved the fact the there is a maid every day to pick-up and clean up. If you are looking for a nice get away this is the place.see more

Close to heaven

Our group rented Casa Paraiso for five nights ending april 4, 2014. Everything was perfect. We rented through Luxury Retreats. The on-site assistance from Dallas and her team was fantastic. The shuttle from the San Jose Costa Rica airport to the villa went flawlessly. It could not be any better. On arrival at the villa, Dallas was there to explain the features of the villa and attend to any other need. She was professional, attentive and very timely with all her responses, setting up rental vehicles, excursions and other items. The highlight was our private chef, Klaus Thalau. He was a true artist, 6 star food each day, made to perfection, menus crafted by Klaus based on our preferences, we had themed evenings. He is a humble man who clearly is passionate about perfection. 40 years of experience shows. The villa was very clean and in excellent condition, well maintained and with everything you could need. Daily housekeeping and personal laundry each day. Heaven is an understatement.see more

If you love nature and like to get away from the tourist traffic this is the place! We were amazed by the sights and sounds of this gem of a property. Endless trees, flowers, wildlife, and your own personal waterfall! Peter gave us an thorough tour of the property, pointing out many things we would have not noticed on our own. Our kids loved exploring and finding new things to look at. The villa is beautiful, well-equipped and spacious. The views are stunning from the balconies, and are quite the treat to wake up to. Punto de Vista / a paradise villa from service to scenery

Our group of 24 family members thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our 8 day stay here at Punto de Vista, from the welcome by Oliver and his staff to the final send off. From the staff to the accomodations, Punto de Vista created a wonderful and lasting memory from my parents to my children and nieces / nephews. The staff worked tirelessy around the clock to fulfill all of our wishes and requests from food to local touristy stuff. Oliver even accompanied us and acted as a tour guide / translator at the local farmer's market. The accomodations are truly luxurious and unique to say the least, with each room design and view different than the others, but all equally impressive and comfortable. No one wanted to leave, but thankfully, we have a tremendous memory to access when needed.see more
