We pride ourselves in offering high quality hospitality. A place where you can relax and enjoy your stay at the pace you choose.

With a choice of two spacious en-suite rooms. Our Cream room with king bed overlooks our fruit and vegetable garden, and the larger Lilac room with king bed looks out on to the Mount Arthur Ranges and the sea.

The perfect place to explore the Nelson Tasman region in all seasons.
Hazelwood is situated in Mapua village. We are 30 minutes drive from Nelson airport and two hours drive from Picton Ferry Terminal.
We are within easy walking distance of Mapua village and wharf so you can take a break from driving for a while. Here you will discover interesting shops, restaurants, pubs and local breweries and health and beauty care. Take the ferry to Rabbit Island or just sit and take in the great views and atmosphere coastal walks. Mapua is also situated along the Nelson Great Taste Cycle Trail. So bring, or hire a bike from the village and enjoy some of the many kilometres of cycle trail in the region from the challenging to gentle. There are companies who will organise cycling trips if you wish. This enables you to experience the countryside, vineyards and local interests a slow pace. Or you may prefer trips of a more challenging nature.
Historical Nelson city with its music and arts festivals is a short drive away. Golf courses, local breweries and vineyards are all within easy access. For great swimming, kayaking and tramping you will discover all these and more in the stunning Abel Tasman National Park just 30mins drive and a boat trip away. Drive on a little further to discover the Nelson lakes, Farewell Spit or, if you’re feeling a little more active, Rainbow ski field or Mount Arthur. As you journey around the area you will discover many interesting art and craft studios and a wealth of both Maori and European history. Kaiteriteri is a perfect beach for swimming, kayaking, relaxing or getting on a water taxi for a trip along the Abel Tasman coast.
Tramping is very popular and the Heaphy Track and Abel Tasman are two of New Zealand's iconic walking routes.
If you do not have your own transport, many of the tour operators will pick you up from your accommodation.
