Majuli River Lodge

Awaken to the “sound of Africa” as our resident pair of fish eagles proclaim this stretch of river as their own and onto the deck to check as the permanent hippo pod settle back into the river after a night of foraging and the crocs on the sandbanks catching the early morning sun. Relax over breakfast and enjoy the traffic as the animals come down to the river in front of you. Additional Location Information

Do you want a real safari experience in a safe environment that is within the African bush but has all the amenities you would require like a restaurant, bar, and grocery shop? Accessible with a standard rental Marloth Park is a wildlife conservancy bordering Kruger Park. There are houses in the park and animals have free reign to walk the park. Expect to see plenty of visitors in the garden like zebra, warthog, kudu, giraffe, etc. All the safe game are in the park but bordering Kruger you also experience close up sightings of the larger, more dangerous game like lion, elephant, rhino, etc. It means you are safe while enjoying your barbque but in the knowledge that big game are close by. Also there is a very private game reserve in Marloth with 4 of the Big 5. You can enter this park and at times enjoy the whole park to yourself. The great benefit of this option over a standard safari trip is you are not in the traditional tourism circuit meeting great and interesting locals who live full time in the bush and have great advice and stories. A trip to the local bar will be one of the highlights and one experienced by very few other travelers. Add to that you are saving a fortune then it really could be the best option for you.
