People come from miles around to get their patisseries from the village boulangerie. For the young at heart there is an adult/childrens adventure park at the river, where you can indulge in canyoning, kayaking, rope climbing in the tree tops, zip wires, cargo nets and all sorts of other adventurous activities
The nearest main town, just a few kilometres away, is Prades. Prades has many great shops and restaurants as well as a lively market on both Tuesday & Saturday, where you can buy local produce such as the peaches & cherries that are grown in abundance here, fresh vegetables, wonderful cheeses & of course the excellent wine!
There are events and festivals throughout the year. World famous Spanish cellist Pablo Casals fled to Prades during the Spanish civil war, stayed and established the festival that now bears his name
Other Activities: Canyoning, skiing (45 mins), caves, historical sites
Golf: Please ask for golfing information when you make an enquiry.
Ski: Skiing in the Pyrenees about 45 minutes drive to many winter ski resorts.
The Pyrenees Orientales
The Pyrenees Orientales is perfectly positioned between the Mediterranean to the east where the beautiful sandy beaches provide long days by the sea, and the Pyrenees to the west, which offer a wealth of walking and cycling opportunities, not to mention skiing in the winter!
This region is a delight; the Conflent valley provides lush green scenery, with Mount Canigou dominating the skyline and the Pyrenees visible in the distance. You can be swimming in the sea in the morning, and hiking in the mountains in the afternoon. There are even thermal hot springs, so if you would like to combine the two activities we can suggest a hike AND a swim in the mountains! It really does offer you everything!
There is a lake in the local town of Vinca, with beaches, from which you can swim, sail or wind-surf, or you could just visit the popular open air swimming pool in Prades or nearby Ille sur Têt..
Weather: We benefit from being in the sunniest region of France, and enjoy warm, sunny weather from March all the way through to October. November and December are cooler but still with sunshine. January, February and March are great skiing months (45 minute drive to the ski resorts).
