Description
A ‘riad’ is a traditional Moroccan house set around a courtyard or garden. Riad Merstane offers charming, comfortable and affordable accommodation in an historic area of Marrakech-Medina near the ancient shrine of Sidi Bel Abbes, the patron saint of Marrakech and the blind.
Rent the whole riad, ideal for groups and celebrations or one of the 5 bedrooms all with ensuite shower rooms. The riad is decorated throughout in traditional style with local fabrics and handmade furniture sourced from the local souks and antique markets. All bathrooms are finished in Tadelakt, a marble- like plaster for which Marrakech is famous, originally used in Hammams.
All bedlinen is smooth Egyptian cotton and all bedrooms have heating and fans and all first floor rooms have reversible air conditioning. There is a large salon with an open fire, a safe, Cd player and range of Cd’s, a well stocked library area with books and board games and Wi Fi connection.
The spacious terrace has panoramic views of the snow covered High Atlas Mts as well as a sunbed area and cooling shower as well as shaded seating and eating areas.
After a busy day exploring Marrakech guests can relax in the courtyard, full of plants and birdsong, plan their next day’s adventures in the front of a olive-wood fire in the salon or simply curl up with a book on the terrace. The friendly and helpful staff can offer help and advice any aspect of Marrakech including booking all excursions and restaurants.

On the last day, rooms must be vacated by 11am but guests with late flights can stay at the riad with their luggage placed in a secure place.
