Located only five minutes from Martinborough Square and roughly sixty minutes from Wellington, Lismore House is a luxury 5 bedroomed, 3500 colonial styled property available for short-stay rental. Situated within the 14 acre grounds of Lismore Vineyard you will find Lismore House to be a perfect place for vacations, family reunions, honeymoons, corporate events or as a wedding venue.

Overlooking the vineyard, the house has been fully renovated and refurbished in 2016 by interior designer Alena Lee to exacting standards. The landscaped property boasts 12 acres of vines producing the highest quality Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris grapes exclusively for the world renowned Ata Rangi winery located next door.

You will find cloistered reading nooks, roaring fires, an outdoor heated spa overlooking the vines and many places on the property to relax at your leisure. In addition, you will not only find a perfect deck for a BBQ, a fully equipped kitchen, a formal dining room, games room and heated swimming pool*.

Lismore is owned and operated by Dan, Mary and Lucy; extending from a family who has lived and worked in the South of Wairarapa for the last 4 generations.

Getting around

Jump on State Highway 2 for a direct, scenic drive up through the Remutaka Pass and down into the Wairarapa plains. It's 1hr 10 to Featherston. Add another 15 min for Greytown or Martinborough, or 20 min for Carterton or Masterton. Check conditions on the Remutaka Pass on web cam. From Wellington by train: Sit back and gaze at the scenery - you'll be in Wairarapa in an hour.

Upon arrival our estate manager (Lucy) will visit you to answer any questions you have. Lucy lives close by incase there are any issues.

Why can't I call Lucy (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I make changes to my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your booking page. To change your dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Lucy (the owner) a message.

If Lucy (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
