Additional Location Information

Ramila is a very small village of 20 houses at the base of the fortress-town of Marvao. Quinta Relva da Moura sits at the bottom of the village overlooking the Sever River and Spain. This is a forested area within the Sao Mamede National Park. The Marvao area includes, in Portugal, Castelo da Vide, a medieval Jewish town with a castle, Roman ruins, and many other noteworthy sites. The historic towns of Estremoz and Evora are within a short drive. In Spain, the famous cities of Carceres and Merida are within 100K. Perfect area for hiking, bird-watching or excursions.
This truly a majestic area and a perfect place to relax. Cottages owned by Richard Hewitt, author of A Cottage in Portugal, Simon & Schuster.
