Additional Location Information

•I usually land at the airport, go to town for food and beverages then head to the west end where you will be staying and NEVER leave. You will see what I mean. Cathi who opens my unit, is a local and full of great tips. Talk with her as well. You can also work directly with Cathi if you want staples (food, coffee, papaya, bananas, etc) in advance of your arrival especially if it is a night time arrival.
•Best place for food is Friendly Market and for health food Outpost ($$$$).
•If you drink alcohol, go to Molokai Wine and Spirits and talk with Allan. He is great.
•I love to eat breakfast at Molokai Shores in town. The setting is so old Hawaii. Auntie’s fried rice is good if you eat meat
•Friday nights is standing room only with live music. You need to make a reservation
•The Cook House in Kualapuu is also good for breakfast but don’t be in a rush. In fact don’t be in a rush anywhere on Molokai. Kalaupapa look-out, just past Kualapuu is breathtaking. I have hiked down to the peninsula and taken a Damien Bus Tour. Extremely humbling and chicken skin. You can’t imagine. Do a little Google research and you will see why. Here is the link when our company went on this adventure
•From the condo you can walk south along the old golf course to the longest white sand beach in Hawaii, Papohaku Beach. Bring water. Papohaku Beach is great for walking and hiking but the ocean currents are extremely strong and therefore not for swimming. Awesome exercise and beauty. If you walk out the living room and go right, down the road you will dead end into the ocean. There are plenty of beaches. Just look or walk to your right. You can also drive a short distance to Paniolo Hale, then follow the BEACH signs. The safest swimming beach is Dixie Maru. Always be careful in the water. And you also have the pool and spa
•East end is lush and beautiful. It empties into Halawa Falls. Need special permit to hike there which you can check at Molokai Fish and Dive in town.
