I was extremely surprised at how easy Long and Foster made it for me to rent this location. Everyone I spoke with was always willing to help and they were always very cheerful. Thank you! Both check in and check out were a breeze.
As for the house, it had everything that was described. The location was great. It was at the top of the mountain in a gated community which added a peacefulness to the long weekend. We were able to ski out the back door and make it to a lift. The house was open, the the large family room and the spacious kitchen allowed for the 14 of us to be together without being together. The bedrooms were all warm and sufficient blankets and pillows were provided. The walls are a little thin, so move the late-nighters to the basment. The house was well prepared. The hot tub and the sauna both got lots of use. The hardest part was adding water to the hot tub after 2 days of people getting in and out (we could not find a hose).
If it is available in the future, it will be a strong candidate for our weekend vacation.

This house accomodated our three families beautifully. It never felt crowded due to the layout which included a full finished flor on the entrance level with three bedrooms for the kids plus a pullout couch and tv. Adults could hang out peacefully in the second floor great room and relax. The media room was great and the hot tub and sauna made the house very special for us. Our only suggestion would be to include a larger Tv in the great room with full cable - like the media room. It was hard to see the tv from the couches in the great room. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Mountain Merlot and hope to be back

This is an excellent mountain retreat. Plenty of room with a well appointed kitchen. We cook a lot and had everything we needed. We had some minor maintenance issues but rental company was very quick in response. The only reason I did not give this five stars is the view. The deck looks directly at another house. However, you can take a short walk and enjoy some beautiful mountain top views. If you have small children this is a great house since it has a yard to play in. For skiers, it is right next to the lift. I would love to rent this house in winter.

the home was the right size--- 6br-6ba. it was nicely decorated--a few things need repair, but overall fine. location was ok,the private beach was our grandkids favorite,as opposed to the state park. a few things didn't work initially, but alicia at Long&Foster; took care of them. the hot tub and media room were favorites.

If you are here for skiing, this is a top notch location. It is right by ski lift #4, which was closed due to lack of snow (or volume of skiers) when we were there, but it was only a 5 minute walk to the top of the mountain and all the runs/lifts. I had multiple teenagers and they came and went freely which was great for everyone! You can buy lift tickets (but not rentals) at top of mountain and the outdoor center. Lots to do at the house, everyone enjoyed sauna, hot tub, pool table (which was warped, the only real negative) etc.. They have a great little movie room (But no Dvds, which was a disappointment!!! So bring your own). Their is a 3rd floor loft bedroom (Q w bath) that is listed as 'lower level' on amenities. The only negative with that is that it is right over movie room so you can hear everything! Kitchen is great, pretty well equipped with the glaring exception of a big ole soup pot to make a huge batch of chili, soup etc... Highly recommend for a big group or family. We would definitely go back!

We needed a large property that could accommodate 6 families (22 people) for a weekend getaway. Overall, this was a great accommodation for us. The proximity to the wisp resort also turned out to be a nice feature, although something closer to the lake would be nice also. The seating was a bit limited, but we spread out and made everything work.

The house is amazing its huge and very nice. We could literally walk outside and be under the ski lifts. Everyone who helped us including the owners, the people at Long and Foster, and the employees at wisp ski resort were very accommodating and nice. We are definitely going to try to do it again next year!

This was our first skiing experience in Maryland - we usually ski in Pennsylvania. Beautiful area and even though we were snowed-in, we could still enjoy the skiing by walking to the lift. (Location, location, location!!) The house was absolutely gorgeous and well equipped. Plenty of room for everyone.
The complimentary bottle of Mountain Merlot wine and personalized glasses were an added treat.

Wonderful home with all the amenities one could ask for (sauna, hot tub, poker table, pool table) and located right on the slopes just a few hundred yards from the nearest chairlift (which runs almost OVER the house)! Our large group filled the house's capacity, yet we all had plenty of space. Fireplaces made the house even cozier (it was in the single digits while we were there!). Service from L&F was efficient and accommodating. Only weakness I can think of is that pool table is slightly warped and the felt is tattered, but with so much else to, that didn't dampen the experience. Would definitely come back next winter!

First the home is beautiful. The location is great would love to see it in the winter. Now the few problems we had were. 1 we there for the WVU Auburn football game and no cable in the house. Who builds a 1.3 mill dollar house and dose not have cable are you kidding me. Then the septic tank went on the outs 5 kids and no bathroom for 3 hrs. Will not go any further about that. And last the overall check in at the office could have been a bit more hospitable. But maybe the ladie there could have been having a real bad day. ps NO CABLE FOR THE WVU GAME UNBELIVEABLE THANK GOD FOR THE BLACK BEAR BAR!!!!!!!!!!!
