Additional Location Information

Of all the suburbs in Melbourne, Richmond has the biggest heart and sits right next to the Melbourne CBD. It's welcomed people from every conceivable ethnic, cultural and religious background and used the diversity to build what is one of the most vibrant places to live or stay in Melbourne. It's got cool cats, newly arrived migrants, arty types, organic food types, pensioners, professionals, students, conventional and non-conventional, tomato growers, and some yuppies.

With fabulous access to public transport by tram or train, and many within walking distance, you can get to all areas of Melbourne with the upmarket and trendy suburbs on your doorstep. Stroll down Richmonds famous Bridge Road, to sample from its very many cafés and restaurants or browse through the designer shops. Hope on an old Melbourne W-Class tram for a 5 minute ride north to 'little Asia' in Victoria Street or head south along Church and Chapel Street - or take a 10 m tram ride right to the centre of Melbourne, passing the MCG and other sporting venues along the way. Get off at Federation Square, admire the iconic Flinders Street Station, then cross the river to promenade along South bank, passing the Arts Centre, National Gallery and Concert Hall.

Richmond is in or near it all.
