Additional Location Information
Bolivar Suites is located in Mexico City's historic center, between Bellas Artes (the opera house) and the Zocalo (the main square with the National Palace and the cathedral). Declared a World Heritage Site in 1991, the "Centro" (as the locals call it) is chockfull of fascinating sites, Aztec and colonial treasures, busy shopping streets, colorful markets, and plenty of restaurants, bars and nightclubs. Here you feel the throbbing pulse of this great megalopolis - and all just a few steps away from where you are staying.
Take a taxi or the metro to attractions farther afield, such as the Anthropology Museum, Coyoacan with its small-village atmosphere or the “floating” gardens of Xochimilco. And hire a car or hop on a bus for day trips to the famous Teotihuacan pyramids, other archaeological sites like Tula or Xochicalco, or the Museo Nacional del Virreinato in Tepotzotlan (Mexico’s finest collection of colonial art and artifacts).
The Allende subway station is around the corner from our building. The double-decker hop-on hop-off turibus also stops there, and so do lots of other busses going to other parts of Mexico City.

Nestled in the heart of the bustling Historic District, Bolivar Suites is perfect home-base for any excursion in The D.F.
The penthouse suite is immaculately decorated with local artwork and the amenities are some of the best I've ever encountered. The lush arch-framed terrace has a spectacluar view; inviting you to explore this intriguing city.
Complimentary fresh fruit, bread and fabulous pastries awaited our eager consumption upon arrival. An array of liquors, soft-drinks and snacks are also available in the mini-bar for astonishingly reasonable prices. If you were so inclined, you would never have to leave the suite.
My favorite end to the evenings was a soak in the jetted tub, don my provided bathrobe and slippers, and slide into the comfortable bed warmed by an electric blanket. There are hundreds of books and dvds available as well.
Even with all of these creature comforts and luxury, the true gem of Bolivar Suites is the owner, Petra. An infintely charming and interesting host who has gathered the resources of her 25 years residency in Mexico City to provide you with volumes of insider tips. She has many options for personally guided tours, classes and services. She truly made our stay an unforgettable experience. Thank you Petra. We will be back.

If you are looking for an accomodation right in the middle of Mexico City with a lot of space and all kinds of goods you'll have in your own house or flat as well - you should stay over here!
You'll miss nothing at all! Taxidriving isn't necessary, because a lot of sightseeing places are within walking distance. And - best of all: you'll never forget the beautiful view out of the window, especially in the morning shortly after sunrise. You'll love it - and will never forget your stay in this marvelous apartement!

The Bolivar Suites is a beautiful and enormous 4 bedroom apartment perfectly situated in Mexico City's historic district, a five minute walk from the Opera House in one direction and the Zocalo in the other. The bedrooms are generous and the living areas, vast - perfectly suited to a large family or even three couples. The kitchen contains everything, and more, that you could possibly require whilst on holiday. This includes a washing machine, fully stocked freezer, cold drinks and wine and even home-made jam. Freshly baked bread, croissants and fresh fruit are waiting for you each morning, and Ceci will magically produce any other requests you have for breakfast - or will cook a traditional Mexican dinner on request.
But the the best thing about the Bolivar Suites is the personal care and generosity of owner, Petra Fischer.
Petra lives in the adjacent apartment and nothing is too much trouble. Her knowledge of the city, her willingness to organise guides, masseurs, language classes or even packages to send home is beyond anything I have encountered on my travels thus far. It is like having a friend looking after you, personally tailoring your stay in Mexico City.
My only difficulty in writing this review is that I am sharing a secret I would rather keep to myself

Bolivar Suites is an oasis of calm in the heart of Mexico City's District Historico.
We stayed 6 nights and it was a wonderful experience I would love to repeat. The apartment is appointed in excellent taste with everything the curious traveller could desire when away from home. Fabulously comfortable beds and linens, a fully equipped kitchen stocked daily with the most decadent of pastries and fresh local fruits. The library of books and magazines about DF art, architecture, history, and culture was most welcome. Petra is a knowledgeable and entertaining guide to the local ruins and environs. She led us on several highly amusing and extremely informative jaunts in the district which greatly added to our understanding of the cultures of Mexico.
The apartment was immaculate and everything works as advertised. The locale is perfect for easy exploration of all the many fascinations, entertainments and wonderment's of this amazing city. A very opulent experience awaits the traveller at Bolivar Suites. One of the nicest places I have ever had the privilege of enjoying. I could go on and on. It is a great place!

We spent ten days at Bolivar Suites. Our hostess could not have been more generous, kind and helpful, going out of her way to help us. The view is fantastic! Even my jaded Mexican relatives were impressed with the apartment and location. We have rented apartments in Ireland, Paris (4 times,) Provence, Italy, Costa Rica and Bolivar Suites beats them all, in quality and kindness.

This property is flawless, well maintained and without any setbacks. Just plain terrific. What makes it even better is the owner: She will tailor a program exactly to your needs and interests. Whether you are a culture-buff, into architecture, interested in archeology or all together: Petra will get personally involved, and she even has a little team of guides on hand, including herself. If there only was a Petra in every interesting city in the world! Fabulous stay, wonderful host, great property - a Home Run of a vacation.

From start to finish, renting this very unique property in the heart of Mexico City, was a delightful experience. Almost too good to be true it seemed, but it actually was true and we would recommend it in the highest possible terms. Aside from the perfect location, the gorgeous views, the exceptionally well-appointed accommodation (which has a truly beautiful and central loft-like "great room" , with loads light and air, and did I mention the views?!), the experience was profoundly enriched by the helpful and knowledgeable assistance and advice from the proprietor, Petra Fischer. She lives in the adjacent apartment and helped us navigate the sheer vastness of this city. From advice on where to eat, where to shop, what museums to see, Ms Fischer was indispensable. She even accompanied us on a trip to Merced, the largest indoor market in the world and gave us the royal tour of this truly amazing place. She is a fount of local knowledge and was more than willing to share her inside secrets which we very much appreciated.
If for no other reason than to visit Petra, we would happily go back to Bolivar Suites. Fortunately there is no shortages of reasons to re-visit again and again.
